I am interstellar,
Travelling between galaxies and stars and all the aligned planets.
I occur between nebulas and colours and the largest space ever.
I float among stars and moons and every planet known.
I have an affinity with Saturn.
I am an expert in the planet and could tell you everything about it.
It has sixty-two moons and it’s average day is 10 hours, 32 minutes, and 35 seconds long.
Saturn has thousands of rings made of ice and chunks of planets.
My ideas are a cosmos and I choke on the stars when I talk about them
When I grow up, I want to be an astronaut.
I want to drown in nebulas of colours and experience the cold of a black hole.
I want to watch the sun burn and a star explode into the most beautiful brightness of a supernova.
I’m going to be an astronaut when I get older.
I’m going to rely on air on my ship and survive off of astronaut ice cream.
I’ll fall in love with a planet and beg to stay there forever.
I’ll fall in love with an alien and beg to never leave.
I’m going to own a sweater that has the NASA logo on it.
I’m going to step on the moon and feel the ancient history of footprints.
My astronaut body will jump around in slight gravity, just to fly.
As an astronaut, I’ll leave for years and only come back after I’ve cried one thousand tears for how beautiful space is.
I’m going to learn all the constellations.
The stars in the sky will have meaning to me.
All people want to know, is where the stars came from and why their here,
But can’t we just look with grateful eyes and watch them shine?
I want to watch meteor showers from space!
I’m going to memorise the greens and purples of smoke
I’m going to tear my flesh on shards of space and comets
I’m going to watch the northern lights as they dance on the earth sky.
When I’m an astronaut, I’ll finally realise that we are all made from the same space dust
The same big bang that happened to create the entire universe,
That dust made everything.
I will not be a human anymore, I will be an astronaut.
I watch movies of exploration and new planets and life
And I want to do that.
I want to be able to discover a civilisation and tell them that I am human.
I want to believe in aliens.
I used to fear space, getting stuck in some black void
I would helpless and alone, sobbing and suffocating.
I feared I would die alone on a lonely planet
Instead, I’m going to thrive on the discovery of myself.
I want to fly into that dark spot on Jupiter and just sit in the eye of the storm.
I’m going to believe in life on other planets.
I want our passports to say, ‘planet of birth’
I want a spaceship named after me.
I want to be a warrior of the sky and of space.
But if I never get there, if I’m meant to be on Earth, meant to be human, let me be an astronaut in heart.
Let me sit on my porch with my Hobby Lobby telescope
And just stare at the sky late at night, wondering what’s up there.
Let me yearn for the stars at my fingertips and the space dust in my mouth.
When I grow up, I will be an astronaut.
I will drown in nebulas and galaxies.
I will send down transmissions of a successful mission.
When I grow up, I will be interstellar
