Character POV: Watson
I never really liked the lottery. Having to hear the one who got the dot scream is unbearable. It remained me too much of my dad. I remember when my family got the dot.
My dad drew for our family that day. He didn't wanted to go, but we went anyway. I can't believe I was excited to stone someone to death. I didn't understand how saddening it is to lose someone so important in your life.
As me, mom, and dad redraw for our fate, dad got the dot.
I feel like history is repeating itself right now. With every stone I throw, with every stone it hits her, the more I feel like vomiting. I felt my sweat on my forehead dripping down. I'm sure that my complexion is white at this point; snow that fall once a year in my home.
Once Tessie was on the ground, all I see was black.
