My eyes fluttered open to the cool morning air. It had been two days since I checked out of the hospital. I was lying in a hammock on the tree in the front yard. It was hard to get some peace when your sister was a millionaire with a dozen servants and a mansion. A hammock in a forest was a perfect idea, no one would think to look above themselves when searching for me. As usual my sister let the doctors look after me, and disregarded me completely. Not that I minded, I was just glad to be alive after getting my throat slit. The doctors didn't say it was a miracle they said, "a recovery at all was frighteningly impossible, but in a weak was just supernatural." supernatural? I guess it was not very natural to have your throat slashed out by a serial killer and survive with only a scar. The cool blue sky, shined with a wintery scent, and a shiver ran up my spine. My eyes drooped once again, as I fell into a slumber.
It was dark when I awoke, and the stars had an eerie look about them. I started to run toward it, and I arrived at the mansion. What I saw I could not comprehend, with a sane mind. The servants corpses surrounded a pole with my sisters lone head perched on top. In shock all I could hear was footsteps. "tip, tap, tip, tap." a shadowy figure appeared before me and all I could see was his face, with red eyes like blood and fire, and pure white skin like snow.
"I'm coming for you, Kaleb..." it whispered softly, and insanely, "just like a came for your family!" it shouted.
I woke up screaming, in my bed. My head wouldn't stop pounding, and no matter what happened I couldn't stop the screams. The windows crashed open on top of me, covering me in my own blood. the screaming stopped, and like magic, the window placed it's self back together piece by piece, and all the blood went back into my body, like water draining. I started to breathe heavily until my face felt fuzzy. The door slammed open and my sister ran in.
"Kaleb, what happened a heard screaming and then a loud crash!" she asked, worriedly.
"It's nothing," I said with a fake smile, "just a nightmare, it's gone now don't worry." she left reluctantly and all I could think was, "this is far from over, it's the beginning of everything...
