When Kato woke up, his throat was dry and his body ached like he'd been out running without anything to drink. His temperature seemed to be normal which he was thankful for. Seth was laying beside him, holding him to his body. He could feel his warmth against his skin and it was probably why he was so relaxed. He was also awake, which was normal since he couldn't sleep.
"Good morning." He smirked and held him tighter, making him blush.
He had to clear his throat before he spoke. "Good morning."
"That was crazy." He said, moving a hair out of his face. "Are you alright?"
"I'm a bit sore, to be honest." He shifted and winced. "Never expected that."
"Doubt you would. I haven't even told you about it yet." He chuckled. "Guess I'll start after you've eaten. I'm not used to feeding somebody so you'll have to remind me you need food. Like yesterday for example. You didn't eat anything after breakfast."
"You're right." He yawned and sat up, having to remove Seth's arm from his waist to do so. "I forgot to as well." He chuckled softly, stretching with another wince.
"You forgot that you needed food? Aren't you supposed to know when you're hungry?" Seth sat up next to him.
"Yeah, but I learned to ignore it so it's like a habit now." The side of his mouth twitched slightly. "I've got many habits I need to break."
"Well, there are still... donuts left." He said, having to think about what they were called.
"Alright." He sighed and stood, walking over to the box and picking it up. "Want some? I could tell you liked it." He waved it and sat back down on the bed. The way he reacted last time was awfully cute.
He contemplated this for a moment. "Maybe... one..." He muttered.
A grin spread across his face and he opened the box. Inside were three more glazed donuts. But those didn't catch his attention. It was the roach that sat on the middle one. Slowly closing the lid and setting it aside, he stood. "You know what? I'm not all that hungry." He smiled apologetically and walked to the bathroom. Once he was inside, he stood at the counter. That was overly disgusting, he thought, feeling the sudden urge to puke. He never minded bugs, but if he found them in his food, he would refuse to eat whatever food it was for days. Maybe that was one of the reasons he could hold out for so long without food.
"Whoa!" He heard Seth say in the room. "What in the hell? Kato, what is this thing?"
"It's called a cockroach." He called back and he suddenly had the urge to puke again. "I'll be out in a moment. Just need to calm my nerves."
"It's an insect?" He asked. "Are you afraid of them?"
"No. I just hate having my food crawled on." He said, rolling his eyes and walking out to see that Seth had actually picked up the bug and was getting ready to throw it. "Whoa hey!" He jogged over and scooped it out of his hand, walking to the front door and letting it free outside. It was something he picked up from his mother when he was a child. All living things were precious and he believed in that. "I'm sure he was lured by the smell or something. Though I'm not going to eat donuts anytime soon." He wrinkled his nose when he re-entered.
Seth watched him. "Why'd you let it go?" He asked, shifting so he was sitting criss-cross on the bed.
He glared at him like this was obvious. "Becuase it's a living creature."
"So?" A small smirk started to pull at his lips.
"So, I'd rather save lives than take them." He furrowed his brows and tilted his head. "Why? Do you not like that?"
"Oh no, I love it." He reached over and grabbed his hips, pulling him onto his lap. "But I love you more."
He blushed and squirmed. "Yeah, yeah." When he realized he wasn't going to be let go, he sighed and leaned back into his chest. "So you were going to tell me what happened?"
"Yes." He held on tighter and rested his chin on his head. "What did you see when you conjured the sword?"
"Umm... A fire that changed colors was surrounding it." He offered, thinking back on it.
"Right." He felt him nod. "That's the Demon King's sword. His power must've been given to you after he died since you're his blood relative."
"The angel also had a sword." He said, grimacing as he thought about the way it had stabbed Seth. "It was covered in a white light. Are those connected or something?"
"You're right. I don't know about the sword she had. All I know is that it's an object that can successfully purify a demon. Angels usually use their purification magic to do that." He paused. "You know the story of how Lucifer was originally a part of heaven but fell to the Underworld and became the Devil or something like that, correct?"
"Yeah."
"He was an angel God created to be evil and he was unusually powerful. He didn't have the ability to purify. He was actually able to conjure up all the different types of fires on the Earth in the form of a sword. That was his weapon. And it's the only one that can kill angels. Even I can't manage to do that." He chuckled. "His wings were black, like crow feathers, instead of white, like doves." He sighed.
"He had wings?" He asked, astonished. He hadn't expected that.
"Yes. He had many different abilities that were unique to the angels. Those were just two of them. I actually don't know all of them myself. Though, I'm guessing healing was one of them since you were able to use it." He kissed the top of his head. "And you were able to stop the purification. I don't know why he wasn't able to stop the purification from spreading on himself. He used to be able to do it but he must've been weakening."
He shifted as he thought about it. "Was that what was spreading? The white light?"
"Yes. The white light. That was me being purified. My soul would go to heaven and I would be free from being a demon." He sighed. "But who in the hell said I wanted to do that? I was born and bred a demon and I would like to keep it that way." He could hear the pout in his voice. "Oh. That reminds me." He paused and he wondered what he was doing when a flicker of dark brown caught his attention. He turned to see his tail flicking back and forth. "I forgot I was hiding those. No wonder I'm tired."
"I... I see..." He muttered, watching it. "Wait, I heard you say something about me not being at my full potential yesterday. What did you mean by that?"
"What I meant was that you weren't using all of your abilities. I could sense it on you. There's something that's waiting to come out." He rubbed his belly and he blushed.
"What would happen when it did? Will I change or something?" He asked, a little scared of the answer.
"No. Nothing like that. Though that's just my opinion, I still feel like you'll be the same Kato I know and love." He put his lips on his neck. "Yeah, I know you will." He kissed up and down his neck, making him suck in a breath.
"W-we're supposed to be talking, you know..." He muttered, shutting his eyes.
"Yeah, I know." But he didn't stop. When he hit the crook of his neck, he gasped at the tingling pleasure.
"H-hey..." He breathed out and Seth began to suck on the spot, making him gasp again and bite his lip to keep from moaning.
"You're adorable." He stopped and kissed his cheek. "You're bright red."
"Yeah, well, I can't help it when you go and do something like that!" He covered his face with his hands, embarrassed.
"Look at me." He felt his finger under his chin and when he turned, their lips made contact. He jumped in surprise but eventually gave in, kissing him back.
When they broke apart, he put his finger on Seth's lips. "N-no more." He tried to make himself sound firm but he felt light-headed. Seth was overly addicting.
Seth pouted against his finger. "Why are you making me wait?"
"Because... I'm not emotionally prepared." He blushed and turned away.
"Not emotionally prepared?" Seth laughed and rubbed his stomach. "How cute."
He puckered his lips. "I'm. Not. Cute."
"Is it so wrong of me to call you cute when you're cute?" He asked, his hand going under his shirt and rubbing his bare belly.
Blushing, he pushed his hand out and squirmed, trying to get out of his arms. "Why are you always touching?" He asked with a pout.
"Because you're mine. And I naturally want to touch what's mine." He winked and he blushed deeper.
"It feels funny." He muttered and he successfully escaped his arms and crawled off the bed.
"Liar. It felt good and you know it." Seth smirked.
"What?" He couldn't stop blushing so he turned away. He didn't even know how to answer that. Truth be told, it did feel good. He just hated to admit it. "W-what are we doing today?"
"Well, I'm thinking I'll have to continue tutoring you. But if you want, we can do that while we're out." Seth stood. "I like walking around with you." His tail swished and he brightened. "I can totally put my arm around you now."
He crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow, turning back to him. "Oh, can you now?"
Seth rolled his eyes and walked over, turning and slinging his arm over his shoulders. "Yes. See, I'm doing it already."
"Fine." He smiled softly. "But where will we go? Is tutoring really something you can do walking around?"
"My kind is, yes." He walked to the door, guiding Kato with his arm. "I have to teach you the ways of the world and that can't be taught in a book."
"I see." He sighed. "The ways of the world, huh?" When they exited, he looked up at the clear blue sky. "The world's an interesting place."
"It certainly is." He sighed happily. "Tell me, Kato, if you could rule the world, what would you do?"
"What would I do?" He thought about this. "That's certainly a good question... One I've never thought about. I'm not so sure."
"Alright, fair enough." He began walking down the sidewalk. "Then tell me how you wish the world could be."
"Peaceful." He muttered, looking ahead. "Away from starvation and terror. I know there are people who've had it worse than me and... I want that to stop. I want them... to be free. Like how you saved me. If there's one thing I wish the world would be, it would be truly peaceful and free." He sighed, looking down at his feet. "Though there's never light without darkness..."
"That's a surprisingly well thought-out response and it barely took time for you to answer," Seth said and he looked up to see him smiling. Not smirking, but a genuine, heartfelt smile. "Which means you're serious. I like that. Then, if you were to rule the world, I'm sure you'd try hard for world peace and prosperity among your subjects." He winked.
Smiling, he leaned against his shoulder. "I guess you're right. I would do that."
"Kato?" A voice sounded from behind and they both turned. There stood a girl in a skirt that barely fit and a tank top that surprisingly didn't show much. She had dirty blond hair that was braided and draped around her shoulder and she had bright blue eyes. He was sure she would have been naturally beautiful without the cake of makeup she had on. "I knew it! It is you!" She grinned and jogged over. "You haven't been to school in a couple days." She smirked. "So what have you been up to?"
"Um... Do I know you...?" Kato asked softly, blinking in surprise. He recognized her from somewhere but couldn't quite place it.
She pressed her lips together, glaring, before fixing herself. "Y-yes. I'm... in your class..." She said, turning to Seth. "Hello there! I'm Samantha, Kato's friend."
"You are?" Kato was definitely surprised. She responded by giving him a dirty look. Seth tightened his arm from around his shoulder, pulling him closer. He may have been classmates with this girl but he didn't ever remember talking before now.
She looked at him for a moment before stopping and leaning forward. "What's that... on your neck?" She muttered before her eyes widened and she grinned. "Kato, you naughty boy. What have you been up to?"
"What are you talking about?" He reached up and rubbed his neck in confusion. "Is there something there?" Then he remembered. Sudden realization crossed his features and he turned and glared up at Seth who shrugged and turned away, smirking.
"I'm so going to tell the entire school where you've been." She giggled and brought out her phone. Oh look, the attention-sucking device, he thought to himself. "Just wait, your social life will be ruined."
"What social life?" He asked, smiling softly while being terribly irritated over their conversation. "Sorry, but I couldn't care less." He wrapped his arm around Seth's middle and pinched his side, leaning in and whispering. "You're so going to hear from me when we get back." He felt the rumble of his laughter and pinched him again.
She sputtered and placed her hand on her hip. "So? Who did you do it with then? And why are you hanging out with someone like him? He's way too hot for you." She winked at Seth and Kato stiffened, glowering.
"He's hanging with me because he's mine." Kato could practically hear Seth rolling his eyes as he spoke. "And if you don't mind, I'm trying to tutor him so why don't you go and take your girly business elsewhere?"
She glared at him before realizing what it meant. "You two...?" She smirked. "I'm so telling the whole school about this. When you come back, your life is ruined."
"He isn't going back. Like I said, I'm tutoring him." Seth bent down so his and Kato's faces were side by side. "Well, Samantha, I guess I'll see you in Hell." And he turned, dragging Kato beside him and leaving Samantha to sputter around for a response.
"Well, that was crazy," Kato muttered, sighing. "But no wonder she looked familiar."
"Yeah." Seth tightened his grip on him. "You had to deal with that in school?"
"No, not really. Unless I ran into someone, I was basically invisible. And that," he waved his arm behind him to where they left Samantha, "is why I liked it that way."
"Crazy." He looked up to see him shake his head. "She thought of a lot of things, too. She was literally trying to picture you having sex with someone. Quite entertaining."
That made him blush and he pinched his side again. "I didn't need to know that!" He hissed.
Seth laughed. "How adorable!"
Kato puckered his lips, fighting back a response.
"And I'm saying you're adorable because you are." He turned into an alleyway where he pressed him against the wall and kissed him. "I'll always compliment you like that." He muttered on his lips and he blushed. "Just accept it from me. You don't have to accept it from others." He whispered, tilting his head and cupping Kato's neck.
Kato kissed back, his arms gripping the back of his shirt. When he broke away, he panted. "F-fine. But only from you." He muttered, blushing and hiding his face in Seth's shirt.
"That's the spirit!" Seth put his hands on Kato's hips. "It's nice to know I'm special in your gorgeous eyes." He said before spinning him and rewrapping his arm around his shoulder. "Moving on!"
"O-okay." He smiled, then remembered. "But I'm still mad at you."
Seth chuckled and leaned down. "I'm not going to apologize for marking you as mine, you know." He muttered in his ear, making a shiver run down his spine and a blush flutter across his cheeks. He loved this man. He couldn't help it.
