The news of my husband's death has reached his father, King Mortain III of Terrencello, but the news of my father's return hasn't even left the castle. Lor's father isn't pleased and would rather wage war against us for killing his son, but I have written letter after letter telling him that I had nothing to do with his death, though it sounds as if the man was dying himself. The letters are no longer in his handwriting and are rather vague.
My father wanders the castle every night, trying to find his deceased wife, because no matter how many times I tell him of her passing, he refuses to believe me. The guards treat him like he's a ghost and are rather frightened of him, but still he keeps wandering. He keeps asking why he isn't the king anymore and tries to get me to reinstate him as king, but when he's around everyone is scared, because they think he came back from the dead.
"Why is it like this?" my father asked as he was visiting me one night.
"It's like this because..." I said, "You weren't here..."
