As the night rolled on Yuna continued to sit there, she stared out into the distance, the mug in her hand now cold. The day was so strange and foreign to her. It was like she was in a nightmare, no....she knew for a fact that this was in the real world. But, then again that day dream she had, she could still feel the tingling pain from around the palm of her hand. It sent shivers down her spine and made her heart pound. That look in that man's eyes. It was so familiar and so chilling.
Lifting the mug up to her lips, she drank what little bit of chocolate she had left. The rain slowly started to calm down and Yuna sighed softly. She closed her eyes for a moment, just a moment. She listened in on the sound of thunder in the distance, to the sound of rain dancing along the roofs, the howling of the wind. It brought her ease, she could not experience this back at her home, back with her father. She always had to stay indoors, never leave the house. Her father would sometimes mutter under his breath that she was too dangerous for the world. Too dangerous....
Something touched Yuna, she felt icy fingers brush against her chest. Her eyes shot open. In front of her stood a figure covered in the darkness with crimson eyes. They stared right into her glass eyes. Her throat ran dry and her eyes teary. What was this feeling? Longing? Dread? She couldn't tell, she had so many mixed emotions running through her. The hand of the figure grasped Yuna's pendent, and its eyes dropped to it. It leaned in, the light from the house now revealing its face. A young man, it was a boy about her age. He had deep red eyes that sent shivers down her spine, pitch black hair and a pale face. Handsome, he was very handsome, even with the dark circles under his eyes.
His eyes remained locked on her pendent as his thumb grazed over the jewel. His eyes narrowed and he looked back up at Yuna. Her breath stopped as did the tremble in her body, which she hadn't realized she was doing. "This....is a curse," he said in a low, raspy voice. Yuna blinked a couple of times, registering what he had said. Her gaze turned into confusion and his turned to sadness. He grasped the pendent before leaning in some more, their faces inches from one another. "You...don't remember? You lost it all?" His other cold hand reached up to cup her cheek, goosebumps formed along her skin. His eyes scanned her face and they seemed to become sadder.
"You....did it....really did...." He said in his broken English. "Lost...everything. But won't change fact. Can't be human, never human, just not meant to be." Not human? Her mind flashed back to the dream she had on the bus, to the shed, to the shadows and to the day dreams. Her head started to hurt and she pulled away from the male's touched. "N-no, get away," She said in a hushed voice. The male stared at her shocked. She was telling him to leave. Hurt filled his eyes and Yuna couldn't bring herself to look at this stranger. "G-go away before I call the police." The male stood there for a moment before letting go of her pendent, her turned his back to Yuna and before leaving he said, "Nothing changed.....war comes....you can't change.....can't be human....please....don't hide behind...necklace...." His tone of voice was so sad.
When Yuna went to turn her gaze back at the male, he was already gone. The rain had stopped at this point and now Yuna was left with nothing but silence. Her hand went to her pendent and she held it tightly. It felt warm within her grasp. Unknown tears rolled down her cheeks. Tears of mixed emotions. She felt angry, sad, longing, and love. She felt lonely and heartbroken, all of these feeling just from seeing the eyes of a stranger. A stranger who seemed to know so much about her. Just..who was he?
Quickly, Yuna set down her mug, and wiped the tears away. Not human? That man must've been crazy. Yuna was human. She was! She had a mother and a father, she grew up....semi-normal. So why would he say such cruel words? And why do they make her feel so, so conflicted? Yuna looked down at her hand, the same one that touched the male in her day dream, her glass eyes narrowed and her pink lips thinned. That's right, crazy talk. Nothing but crazy talk from a crazy, but beautiful, person.
Her eyes now felt heavy with all this thinking. Standing up, she picked up her mug, and closed the paper door. Taking the mug to the kitchen and placing it in the sink, Yuna made her way to her room and to her bed. She opened her door and shutted it behind her. She changed out of her Yukata and let her long blond hair down from its bun. Her body fell forward and made contact with the soft mattress. Her eyes drew to a close and her body relaxed. Her mind went blank as she slowly lost consciousness.
