Whispers echoed throughout the glass box that surrounded the frail girl who sat on her knees. Her delicate hands sat in her lap, eyes closed, as she tried to tone out the whispers that tried to make her open her pale glass eyes. They tried to make her focus on the foul smell that seemed to suffocate her, drown her in the scent and take control of her easily influenced mind. Over and over they whispered, each time they got louder and louder. The sound seemed to pierce her skull like knives and her throat swallowed roughly. Her small mouth opened and a small gasping sound escaped her lips. Her throat felt dry, no matter how much she swallowed, it did nothing. Hunger tore at her stomach and her fingers grasped and clawed at the skin of her neck. The marks stung and bled as drool slowly fell from the corners of her mouth.
The lid of her eyes opened slowly and her glass eyes stared ahead of her. Even though the walls were of glass her reflection was no where to be seen. Her pale white hair kept her naked, pale body warm as well as the blood. The blood from the scratches she had made, from all around her dry neck, dripped and danced down her cold body. The scent of her blood made the air fouler and the scent made the girl's nose curl. Even though she knew this scent, the smell still left a funny taste in her mouth. Even though she craved this foul scent her mind still refused it. It always had and always will.
The child narrowed her glass eyes as they landed upon a stuffed bear that now sat across from her, leaning against the glass wall. The bear had not been there before. Like any normal teddy bear, this one had brown skin and brown button eyes, it's mouth stitched into a cat-like smile. They stared at each other for a long while, as they stared the air seemed to have become thicker and heavier. The girl's chest rose and fell quickly and soon she started coughing and gasping for air, their staring contest over was now over. Covering her mouth the girl coughed and coughed until it felt like her insides were to come out and fall from her mouth onto her hand. Pulling her hand from her mouth, she stared at her shaking hand to see the blood she had just coughed up. Her eyes narrowed and slowly she inched her lips closer to her hand, the tip of her tongue slowly running against the warm, metallic liquid that was hers.
Laughter is what made the small girl stop and her eyes went back towards the bear, but it was no longer sitting against the window, it had gotten closer. Slowly, the girl dropped her hand and her pale lips turned downwards. The bear was holding something in it's paws, it's smile had widened all the way past its button eyes. The smile was now open and sharp teeth were now seen. The girl gulped, sending saliva down her dry, dry throat. Just the taste of her own blood made the girl's hunger grow. It growled and roared, demanding more, and the bear was here to full-fill that request. For in its stuffed paws was a human arm. The arm of a man sat in its paws, teasing her, taunting her, begging her to take a bite. The whispers that had stopped for a moment picked up once again. They were much more louder this time.
The girl let out a small gasping sound, her glass eyes wide as her small hands grasped around her ears. Tears started to form and her head moved from side to side rapidly. Pain....all she could feel was pain. From her head all the way down to her paralyzed feet. Along with the whispers that nagged her mind the bear's laughter rang in her ears. It seemed to be mocking her, pitying her. The girl's eyes narrowed and stared at the bear, her gaze full of hatred. The bear stopped laughing and its smile seemed to have widened, if that was even possible. It held the severed arm up higher towards her and the scent that surrounded the room seemed like it was absorbed by the flesh and the rotting smell was soon replaced with something sweet like honey.
More and more drool dribbled from the corners of her lips and slowly her hands dropped from her ears. Her nostrils sniffed the air, taking in as much as the scent as she could. Her teeth started to ache, like they were growing, her tongue ran along them only for it to be cut from the sharpness of her aching teeth. Once again she felt the warmth of her blood slid down her dry throat, quenching her thirst a bit, but she still craved more. The small girl reach out towards the bear, out towards the severed arm in its hand. Her legs were unable to move and her arms were not long enough to reach the bear. The bear started to laugh once again and stood its ground as it watched the child reach and make begging sounds for the arm. She needed it, she needed to bite into the sweet honey flavor that made her blood boil and her body hot.
Finally, after having its fun the bear started taking small steps towards the begging child. When it was in arms reach the girl snatched the human arm from the bear and brought it up to her lips. She inhaled its scent and let out a deep, pleased sigh before she opened her mouth and sank her sharp teeth into the fat part of the arm. The blood flew into her mouth and down her mouth, the thick toothsome meat made her moan quietly. Her tongue ran along the section that was in her mouth before she started to pull the meat from the bone. Chewing rapidly like a starved animal, the child devoured the arm in no time and only bone was left. Throwing the bone to the side the girl panted and wiped the blood from her tainted pale lips. Her glassy eyes looked over towards the bear, who was still in range of her grasp, it smiled as if it was waiting for something.
Not caring the girl swiped the stuffed bear up. Her hunger wasn't satisfied yet, she wanted more. She needed more. Her now long claw-like nails dug into the skin of the bear and ripped and tore. Her teeth sank into the bear's head and tore it in half. One would expect to taste stuffing but the girl didn't. She could taste the same honey-like flavor that she had just tasted from the human arm. Swallowing a huge chunk, the girl's pale cheeks reddened and she felt her small, frail heat pound. Good, it tasted so good. Slowly, the girl started to giggle and chuckle as the warm liquid slid down her throat. Her fingers played in the insides of the bear as she chewed on the half of its face that was in her mouth. Her laugh was dark and grim, as was her smile. Her tongue ran along her lips as the girl tore the bear's arm from its torso. If she could she would be standing, dancing around with the dissembled bear, for her hunger was starting to become satisfied at last.
The sounds of the child tearing at the bear echoed throughout the glass box she was in, it was the only sounds that could be heard. Her long, sharp teeth bit and tore and chew, and bit and tore and chewed. Over and over she did this until the bear was no more, the only thing left was its brown button eyes that stared up at her mockingly. The child had no care for those mocking button eyes so instead of tossing them to the side, she licked the blood from her pale arms and hands. Her tongue licked the blood from her lips as her glassy eyes stared ahead of her, focusing on nothing at all. The air was no longer foul nor was it sweet. The space around the girl was no longer heavy and all was quite. Her back slumping a bit, the child relaxed and a small sigh left her tainted pale lips that sat like a line on her face. Her glass eyes opened and closed over and over as they stared into the empty space that surrounded her.
Her stained hands laid against her pale legs. Some hair fell from her shoulder and left it feeling cold. Her glass eyes narrowed, her hunger was now gone, her cravings had stopped but....now she was all alone. Aqua fell from her eyes and as they fell they turned crystal and shattered upon hitting the glass ground. Slowly, her glass eyes began to close as more and more aquas fell from her cheeks and shattered at the ground. Her back slumped a bit more and her forehead inched close to the cool, glass ground. The two were pressed together by the time her eyes had fully closed. Her breaths were soft and soundless as they fogged the ground. She could hear the beating of her heart. The rate had slowed back to normal, but the girl never did have a normal heart rate. It was as if she didn't have one at all, like her heart wasn't even beating. The only reason why she could hear it was because of the complete silence that surrounded her.

That silence was quickly replaced by the sounds of laughter, the same laughter that belong to the bear the child had just eaten. The girl's head shot up, her glass eyes wide. They darted around the glass box, up, down, in front of her, behind her, to the left, and to the right. There was no sign of the stuffed animal. She felt her heart tighten in fear and she swallowed heavily. Words the child hasn't heard in such a long time started ringing into her ears. The girl let out a shaky noise as aquas started forming from her eyes once again. They fell from her cheeks, turning to crystal, before shattering once again. The pain in her head returned and she covered her ears as distressed sounds escaped her lips. Her small pale body trembled before she cried out, begging the laughter to stop. It did.
Panting heavily the girl placed both of her hands on the glass ground in front of her. Sweat rolled down the side of her cheek and her neck. She swallowed hard before looking up, ahead of her. The reflection she once didn't have was now sitting there. Though it wasn't the child at all. Instead there was this, this monster. It had the face shape of a horse, the long snout and the big round soulless eyes. Around the mouth was huge sharpen teeth and thick saliva that dripped down from its mouth. Its cheeks feathered out like flower petals that lead to the monster's long thick neck and its huge round torso. Upon its back seemed to be folded wings that were far too small to carry something of this monster's size. The front had two monstrous arms and long claw-like nails that were covered in blood. The monster sat on its back legs, which were far larger than its arms, and its tail curled around the monster. The monster didn't have pigment color for its skin so one could see all of its veins. The monster's chest barely rose and fell, the only reason the girl knew that it was alive was the fact the monster blinked.
The monster was crying, just like the girl, and its position was the exact same as hers. They stared at each other, they stared into each other's soul. The girl's eyes widened when she realized the monster didn't have a soul, when she realized what the monster was and what it meant to her. More aquas rolled down her cheeks and as they did the monster cried more tears of blood. The child bit her pale lips as her body trembled. Her hands bawled up into fists and she shook her head, her glass eyes shut tight. As she shook her head the monster followed her movements, though it couldn't close its eyes or bawl up its claw-like hands. When the girl opened her eyes, she found the monster was still there. A pitiful, distressful cry left the girl's mouth as she did so a horrid, sad wail left the monster's mouth.
The wail of the monster overpowered the child's and they just sat there crying out into nothingness. Her eyes opened and went back to the monster. It was only a image in the glass wall, a reflection, but it was still something the child did not want to see. She did not want to be reminded of what and who she truly was, what she had done over and over again. She did not want to acknowledge the fact that the monster in the glass wall was her true form, that she was a monster beneath the human skin she wore.
The child's brows knitted together and her clenched hands tightened together, drawing blood, her lips curved downwards. No! I won't be like that ever again! The voice in her head cried out. I won't go down the path ever again! I will be human! Lifting her fists in the air, she slammed them down against the glass. It shattered upon impact and the cracks extended all around her, breaking the glass box. The girl gasped, her glass eyes wide, as the glass box shattered and disappeared. For a short moment the girl floated in the empty space but then she fell. The child fell into the dark abyss, her hand extended out towards the nothingness.
