Children. They’re scared of just about everything. And why shouldn’t they be? They know nothing of the world. So based on instinct, they stay away from it. Or sometimes just freeze up and cry. Adults know that monsters don’t exist, and the dark is nothing to be afraid of. But that’s only through personal experience. A child, whose only had a few years on earth, has had nothing of the sort. How are they to know if a monster is waiting to grab them out of bed or not? They don’t. Usually, one will get over these fears. Mostly because of how many times they’ve been in the dark and nothing’s happened. But if they ever actually saw something. Something lurking in the night. They would still be afraid. That feeling of the unknown would settle in, and grab hold of their life.
