I recently got Pokemon Omega Ruby, and I always get a lot of shit for this, but I always choose Grass types for my starter Pokemon (though I do have a soft spot for Cyndaquil as well~)
Sceptile, especially is my favorite starter because it just looks so cool! (Though I gotta say, I'm not particularly fond of the Omega form...)
