Both Julian and Oliver didn’t say anything, instead they were left wondering themselves where there destination was. They most definitely couldn’t go back home. Jos smirked and leant heavily on the bar, looking intently at all three of them.
‘If you’re genuinely just going around, you should head to Dracraek. This super old mysterious Circus is gonna be there in a couple of days.’
Alice looked to Jos curiously, ‘Are you talking about Serendipity blah de blah?’ She couldn’t quite remember the name.
‘Yeah, Serendipity Cirque. Apparently they’ve been in hiding for a hella long time, and this is their first performance in like 50 years. To get tickets, we should probably leave early. It’ll be crowded.’
‘We?’ Oliver questioned, finally looking over at Jos. He was not fond of the idea of spending more time with them. He was very grouchy.
‘Yeah, I’m coming with you.’
‘No you’re not.’
‘Yeah, I am. It’s a win-win situation.’
Oliver rolled his eyes heavily. ‘Yeah right.’
‘It is! I get to travel with a bunch of genuinely attractive people, and not be lonely for a while. And my sense tell me that apart from-‘
Jos paused and looked over to Alice with a questioning face. They had completely forgotten her name.
‘Alice…’
‘Right. My sense tell me that apart from Alice, you don’t have much experience around these parts. But I have a lot of wisdom, and I am willing to share it with you, as long as I can tag along. I’m heading there with or without you anyway. I’m not missing a circus like that.’
Julian looked over to Oliver with widened eyes. He’d only been to one circus in his life, and it was a private one for the royal family, and was pretty damn terrible. Now he had a chance to go to a ‘normal’ circus, and one which Jos seemed to recommend, he wouldn’t let Oliver say no.
‘No.’
Julian pouted, getting up from his stool and he draped his arm over Oliver’s shoulder. ‘Come on! A secretive circus, amazing company in the form of Alice, and an incredibly nice tour guide. It’ll be great!’
‘Damn right!’ Jos laughed and winked in the direction of Julian.
Alice, too, as in favour of visiting the circus. Her job had been subpar recently, and she could do with a bit more excitement in her life. And, even though she knew exactly where the circus was being held, she had no objections to Jos leading them about. They seemed nice enough.
‘Why not Oliver, it does sound like fun?’ She raised her eyebrows slightly.
‘You’re on his side too?!’
Alice returned to her drink, missing the incredulous, and defeated, face which he pulled in her direction. He looked between all three of them, and decided that they were all equally annoying and stubborn.
‘Fine. But I won’t enjoy it.’
‘Thank youuuu!’ Julian sang, ruffling his hair before returning to his stool at the bar, smiling widely at Jos.
‘So it’s a yes from Dad?’ Jos joked, placing their drink back on the bar. ‘I suggest we leave early morning tomorrow. Sound good?’
Alice stuck their thumbs up, and Oliver murmured something quite rude under his breath.
‘Yeah, meet here?’
Jos stuck their thumbs up and took a couple of steps back.
‘See you then!’
Julian and Alice waved them off, while Oliver took another defeated sip of his drink. They all sat in silence for a few minutes longer. Alice slowly looked to the doorway, her face puzzled.
‘Wait, where is he going? This is the only inn in town?’
