The Lines between

There is a few levels between the things you want to do and what you have to do. It can also be applied to money as well. Each little bit a step forward or 2 steps back depending on perspective. In my case my car, Selene needs a lot tlc so each activity it's another line to the completed piece. Forward is still forward even it's one step at a time. And the reward when your done.
