When class ended I went back to my locker, but when I got there he was there, just leaning up against my locker like no one’s business. I asked him, “Will you move? I need to get to my locker before the busses leave.”
But what he said after that surprised me, “No. Not until you agree to let me drive you home.”
So I said, “Ahhhhh. I see what you're trying to do. You're trying to get me to go out with you. Well let me tell you this I'm not interested in guys like you, so you can just let me be and go on my way.”
“Guys? What guys are you talking about?”
“Ohhh, you know exactly what kind of guys. Guys like you. Who are arrogant, immature, self-centered, have big ego problems. Should I go on or do you get the jest already,” I said with a little bit of an attitude in my voice.
He tried to hold in his laughter but sooner or later he caved in. He was laughing so hard it felt like the ground was shaking. Finally when he calmed down he asked me, “You like me, right?”
“Excuse me. Who would like you? I mean you're arrogant, immature, self-centered, handsome…..” I said it, I thought to myself, I said what I couldn't bring myself to say the first time we met. I didn't mean to say it, but why? Why now? He started laughing again and this time he I saw tears coming out of his eyes.
