Yuna smiled as she sat in a field of flowers. She listened to the sound of the coy swimming in her grandmother's pond. The wind kissed her cheeks and ran its fingers through her hair. Her small fingers brushed against a flower's pedals. Soft and fuzzy. The lovely scent that surrounded her put her heart and mind at ease. The sun shown beautifully for once and there wasn't a cloud in sight.
Yuna's long eyelashes narrowed as she gazed at a patch of verbena flowers. A smile formed on her lips as she felt her chest warmed. Flowers were so pretty, she thought lovingly. She could hear the sound of chimes in the background. Her eyes closed and she took in a deep breath. Her thoughts faded to nothing and she enjoyed being soaked in nature's love. It was like a dream. A dream?
From the back of her mind she felt as if a voice was calling out to her. Someone....was calling her name. But who? The voice sounded familiar, but she couldn't remember. Her eyes opened and the voice quickly went away. She stood up and brushed the dirt from her skirt and a sigh left her lips. Before she knew it she was standing at the beach side. Waves rolled and crashed into the land, taking her sand along with it.
The sun was slowly sinking, merging with the sea, dolphins jumped out of the water only to dive back into them. Yuna shivered when the brisk sea touched her feet before fleeting away. The wind sent the scent of salt water. The sand was still a bit warm under her feet, but it was slowly cooling due to the sinking sun. She watched the colors mixed within the sky, creating an alluring painting of nature.
Everything was so stunning. The world was truly angelic, a work of an inhuman being. Even it's populates were beautiful and graceful. Works of art.
Yuna's gaze turned melancholic. Flawed works of art. "Yes, isn't the world beautiful? It's too bad humans stain its beauty to satisfy their own selfish desires," a voice hissed from within her mind. The voice sounded just like hers, alike in every way, except for the tone. While hers was normally aloof, this one had a tongue of malice. It was like poison dripping from the voice's very tongue. It made her shiver from how similar their voices were.
Her body tensed when she felt icy fingers lace around her shoulders and gripped her roughly. Her body quickly leaped into action and she turned to see who was behind her. There was no one. She was alone on the beach. She was utterly alone. "Poor little Gem, always alone and confused. One who knows nothing of the world can never be free," the voice cooed in her ears. A malicious laugh surrounded her. Her heart raced and her breath iced within the air.
Her body started to shiver and goosebumps formed along her skin. The words kept repeating and repeating. "Little Gem, Little Gem." Yuna covered her ears and fell to her knees. The sharp crystals of the sand cuts at the skin of her legs but she didn't care. "Stop! Stop it!" The laughing stopped.
A transparent figure stood behind Yuna and stared down at her. A mournful, yet stern, look rested on her face. The angelic woman opened her mouth, "Why?" Yuna opened her eyes. "Why do you run? Where are you going when you run? Nothing will change if you continue to run from everything." Yuna stared at the ground with a defeated look on her face. Her voice was soft and it made Yuna's heart cringe.
"When will you accept it? You can't change who you are, nor can you run from it." The figure's toes barely touched the ground and her plain dress flowed around her transparent legs. A golden band was around her ring finger and her long silver hair danced around her. The woman's eyes stared right through Yuna. Yuna could hide nothing from the strange voice.
The woman's voice only grew with melancholy. The scenery had changed again. They now sat in a field of wild flowers. A wild range of flower pedals flew past them and Yuna's eyes widened. "You remember this place, right?" Of course she remembered, how could she forget the beautiful roses that grew right outside of her home. That man would always pick her roses from here. Tears fell from Yuna's glassy eyes.
They suddenly widened when a flash of white covered her eyes and now the land was bare. Dead flowers sat around her and the sky was a deep red, blood stained the ground, and countless bodies filled the air with the scent of their flesh rotting. "This is what happened when you ran away. It will happen again." She felt icy fingers touch her shoulders and the woman leaned in close to whisper, "Will continue to run because of your selfish desires? Or will you accept who you truly are. Will you finally remember or will you let everything die again?" The voice was so cruel and spiteful.
No words escaped Yuna's lips. She stared at the scene and her tears flowed like ponds. "You are darkness, a curse, that does nothing but bring death where ever you go. Now wake up! Wake up you stupid girl!" The woman's hands balled up into fists Her face twisted as she screamed at Yuna. "Wake up! Just wake up! Wake up already!" The woman was now in tears as she screamed. "Wake up ------!"
Yuna's eyes shot open and the first thing she had seen, when her vision cleared, was a young man looming over her, staring at her with a nonchalant expression. Yuna screamed and Rowen backed away. She sat up and cowered in the corner of her bed. She breathed heavily as she stared at Rowen. He scratched the back of his neck, "You're awake..." When Yuna calmed she sighed softly. "Why...why are you here? How did you even get into my room?"
Rowen tilted his head before going over to the edge of her bed and sitting. "You didn't make it to school, so I came to check up on you. Your grandmother said you've been unconscious since last night, unable to wake you. So I stayed and watched you." His gaze dropped to Yuna's legs, they were bare since she slept in only a tank-top and her underwear. Yuna's face became heated and she quickly pulled her covers up to hide her body.
"I-is that so," she mumbled and looked away. "Thank you...for watching over me." Rowen shook his head before reaching a cold hand out and patting the top of her head. "As long as you are ok." He stared at her for a long moment. His eyes were emotionless, like a dark void that seemed to completely consume her every time she looked at him. His hair was messy but in a way it made him appear cuter. His skin was so pale and cold to touch. The blackness of his clothes clashed with his skin, making him stand out but at the same time make him appear invisible.
"A fairy," Yuna mumbled. Confusion flashed across his beautiful features. Yuna's own pale features turned a bright red when she realized what she had mumbled and that he had heard her mumble it. "A-ah....I was just thinking, you remind me of a fairy." For a small moment, warmth seemed to fill his eyes, as if he was remembering something from long ago, and he smiled. Yuna's heart pounded from within her chest when he smiled.
All he said was, "Is that so," before changing the subject, "Did you have pleasant dreams?" Yuna stared at him for a long while. Dreams? Pleasant ones? She blinked once or twice the the awkward silence surrounded them. It seemed like a very odd thing. A man she had just met the other day, in her house, sitting on her bed and asking about her dreams. It sounded like a dream itself. Rowen's head tilted to the side as he waited for her answer.
Something inside of Yuna's mind clicked. Her hand went to her naked neck and her fingers ran along her warm skin. "Rowen....where is my grandmother?" The male's lips thinned and at that moment Yuna knew something was wrong. She quickly sprung to her feet and went for the door but was stopped by Rowen.
She looked back when he had grabbed her wrist and held her in place. His face twisted into nothing and the hair of her neck rose in fear. "Where are you going?" The voice that came from the once dashing dark prince was now rugged. It was like nails running along a chalk board. "Let me go! You're not Rowen!"
The grip tightened and Yuna winced in pain. She placed her free hand over the stranger's and her nails dug into its flesh. But when the tip of her finger touched the stranger's skin it melted away like clay. Her finger sank into the man's flesh and became stuck there. Yuna's face paled and she started to struggle more, trying to tug awag from his grip. Her foot smashed against his torso but it too was got stuck within his clay-like flesh.
Yuna gasped as the stranger slowly started to make its way closer to her. The flesh that was caught in his sank deeper and deeper with every step. "Let me go! Let me go you monster!" Tears streamed down Yuna's cheeks and the stranger stopped. A wicked grin formed along his faceless exterior. It stretched from ear to ear and the inside was a darken red. "Monster?" Morbid laughter escaped its lips and just the sound of it made Yuna's heart stop. "You should take a look in the mirror everyonce in awhile," it laughed. The face leaned in close and two eyes opened. There were no whites, they were black as night with only two burning red dots to stare at her. "You truly are a hypocrite."
The figure gazed down at Yuna, mocking her, as it laughed. "He spoke so highly of you as well. He said you and her are so alike. But in reality you're nothing but a pathetic little crybaby." The figure's face leaned in closer, their noses barely touching. "I should just kill you right now." It's cheshire smile was now a deep frown. The voice was now higher, it sounded like a girl's voice, but Yuna could still hear the poison in its voice.
"G-get away from me!" Yuna's voice screamed and her heart raced. "Let me go! Please...." she begged. The figure stared at her before it started to laugh once again. The face of the figure shifted. Tentacles sprouted from the middle of its face and they bent backwards, stretching across the black void. The color of its skin changed to a pale cream color. Long black hair fell around its body. It opened its eyes to reveal eyes of crimson and its peachy lips smiled.
Yuna stopped struggling. She stared wide eyed at the new face the stranger now had. Her body felt hot, her blood was boiling and she didn't know why. Her heart kept pounding in her chest but now it wasn't from fear. Her brows knitted together and something took ahold of her. "Tatiana!" Yuna's left arm, the one that was in the grasp of the stranger, snapped. The skin tore and her muscles burned. Her arm expanded and grew three or four times its normal petite size. Her arm was now the color of a ugly mossy green.
The smile on the stranger's face quickly faded. Fear spreads across its face as Yuna easily took ahold of its arm and tore it from the its socket. It cried out in pain, "you bitch! You bitch, you took my arm!" Yuna's eyes burned red as she stared at the stranger, no the stranger's new face, in pure hatred. She threw the arm to the side before grabbing her right arm and forcing her arm to break free from the chest of the figure.
Blood sprouted from the monster's arm socket and chest. It wasn't the color of normal blood either, it was a slimy green and thick. It looked like slime that a child would play with on a normal bases. But as soon as the green liquid fell onto a surface, it melted away. Yuna placed her two hands on her stucken leg. Pulling on it, she released her foot from its trapped prison, and just like before slimy blood poured from the crying figure. It backed away from Yuna, gasping, cursing, crying out in pain.
"Where are you going? I thought you wanted to kill me," Yuna smirked as she neared the struggling person. With every step Yuna took the figure took the a step back. "G-get away from me! You freak!" It spatted. With an eye roll, Yuna cracked her fingers and her neck. "Come now, you were just calling me a hypocrite. Now all you're being is a coward." Yuna loomed over the figure once it was backed against the wall. Her claw slid under its chin and she tilted her head. "Now...tell me how to get out of this little dream spell of yours."
The figure blinked before its lips broke into a grin. It laughed, the laugh was the same as hers, "is that a command? I don't take orders from-" Yuna's hand grasped at its throat, stopping its words. "Answer me! If you don't I'll make sure your death won't be quick." The figure gulped before nodding. Yuna released the stranger's neck and backed away from them. The figure stared at the stranger girl as it rubbed its neck. Yuna folded her arms and tapped her foot as she waited for the figure to work its magic.
"You truly are a monster among monsters. No wonder why our Queen wants you so badly," it said before snapping its fingers. When Yuna heard the sound the environment around her twisted and shifted. The scenery got sucked up into a wormhole and Yuna was left alone in a darkened void. "She..." Yuna mumbled before everything truly disappeared.
Yuna opened her eyes and she sat up. Her mind was full of pain and her body felt heavy. Without knowing why, her hand dropped from her head to her neck. She felt the chain of her pendent and her entire body relaxed. What a strange dream. Yuna stood up and got dressed for school. As she did so she heard her kind grandmother calling for her. A small smile formed on Yuna's peachy lips and she left her room.
The daydream was broken but soon a nightmare will occur.
