By the time the pep rally ended, it was already the end of the school day.
“Hey Lucie! Wanna come to the mall with us?” another close cheerleading friend, Charlotte (a.k.a, Cheri), asks as some of the other cheerleaders followed her. I frown, shaking my head.
“Sorry, I have detention-”
“Was it because of that stupid prank that Julie girl did? Ugh, you totally need to ditch her as a friend. She’s a bad influence on you,” Natasha groans, rolling her dark brown eyes, her ebony brown pigtails bouncing. I frown.
“Yeah… but-”
The bell rings, interrupting me. I sigh.
“Sorry. I’ll text you after detention,” I mumble, walking off.
I ran into the dressing room and quickly changed back into my old clothes. As I pulled my sweater down over my head, I heard a voice.
“Hey Lucie~” he hums. I look over and smiled as I saw Lenny standing in the doorway.
“Hey Lenny!” I greeted. He smiles, walking over.
“So, are you and your little team's going to detention for the Pumped Up Kicks skit you all did?” he asks, quite smugly. I frowned.
“Just because you decided not to get involved doesn’t mean you can be smug about it. Plus you promised if we get in any form of trouble, you’ll help us out. He is your uncle, for god sake,” I explain, sternly. His eyes widen.
“Wow! Never seen this side of you-”
“Shut up, Dawson,” I snap. Lenny’s jaw drops. Wow, I even surprised myself. I thought to myself as I saw the look in his eyes.
“I’m sorry Lenny it’s just- I’ll talk to you later,” I mumble, walking out of the locker room.
