When I lived with my parents, they would often cook foods based off of Italian, German, and Mexican cuisine (My mom learned the recipes when she a nanny of such families).
Shortly after downloading a calorie counting app for the first time (My Fitness Pal) I was shocked to find that most the foods were extremely calorie heavy... and an hour of exercise 3x a week was not even putting a dent in the intake.
This spoke to me on a spiritual level, lol. But right? It's amazing how the foods we love the most are so high in calories. I have a weight loss app that counts calories for me, as well. It's very handy because even when I eat out I can look up the nutritional facts of certain dishes, and make better choices. But as useful as it may be, sometimes I feel like ignorance truly is bliss... ;_;
Over the course of the past few years, I have been working to improve myself physically... what I didn't know at the time is that this would bring about a set of problems all its own. These are my way of coping and are NOT in chronological order.
