“call…call?” Finch looked down at himself confused. Had he called for help in his sleep?
I did Finch’s eyes widened looking straight ahead You told me how…
“It really came through quite clear, I’m surprised you managed to do it so well” Asema continued, “Had to stop Edward from rampaging after it, he would have caused too much of a fuss if we let him out to murder eh?” Finch giggled at that smiling and putting his hands over his mouth, “There’s a smile”
Edward?
Uncle’s older brother…. Finch still felt quite odd answering the bird in thought, it almost felt like he was talking to himself
I…Iwant…I want to move… Finch surprisingly found himself not caring as his hand began to play with the hem of the blanket Asema had set him on, pulling it up to cover himself with a shiver. He was suddenly very aware about how exposed he was
“Are you cold?” Asema frowned, brushing some of the dander he’d created aside
“N…no” Finch scrunched his nose at how odd that had felt…answering in unison with his new body mate only to wince in pain as the scabbing on his nose opened up again and started to bleed more
s..sorry…for that they both lurched as the car came to a stop a little sharper then needed, Asema grumbling curses at the driver as he mumbled an apology waiting for the car to be parked before looking down at Finch with a sigh. It was pretty close to dawn, but not quite late enough for the family to be completely asleep.
“Alright, let’s get you inside and fed” Asema smiled patting his head one more time before exiting the car, helping him to scoot his way out and stand, “Why don’t you let me carry you? You’re still shaky on those knees”
“O..o”
“No…” Finch’s shoulders tensed frowning at the ground, “….fine”
“Working together already” he snorted, scooping the kid up. Finch looked over the huge mansion with its tall tinted stained-glass windows, and the thick stone walls that lined the outside. He was so relieved to be safe. Safe and home.
Looks like a prison but the demon was less than happy. He absolutely hated being indoors…but given that he was now sealed in a vampire, it was probably the safer move. Even though he could move in sun freely, he had no idea if that ability had transferred to the kid like his feathers and plating had. He forced himself still for Asema as he carried them past the prying eyes of Finch’s family still bundled in the blanket from the car
“Here we go” Finch almost started crying again as Asema set him down in his bed, admits a puffy comforter and pillows. This was actual heaven. “I’ll go get you some food, I’ll be back in a min—“
“NO!” Finch’s hand grabbed him in a deathgrip as he moved to leave, eyes wide with terror. The demon flinched at this. That was some serious panic right there.
“No? Do you want me to call in a feeder then?” Finch frowned, biting his lower lip
“N…not…safe”
“Not safe? Too hungry for that?” He nodded, now that at least one of the two being’s anxiety was subsiding, the hunger was starting to come back with a vengeance. “Well then I’ll have someone bring it in here how’s that?” Finch blushed, nodding slowly as he looked away. Asema took a seat on the side of his bed as they waited, Finch settling into his blankets
“Warm…” eyes glowed red with drooping lids turning to bury their face into the pillows under Finch’s head.
“That facility was kept pretty cold…probably to make Finch last longer on no food” Asema mumbled, thinking out loud, “I still don’t get how they managed to grab you in the first place though…” Finch’s eyes flickered back to black, looking at his uncle confused, “What?”
“Not…not grabbed” Finch tilted his head frowning
“You weren’t grabbed? How did you end up in there then?” Finch’s answer was cut short as the food arrived, pushed in on a cart before the maid quickly exited, “Well, tell me about it later” Finch’s eyes fixated on the steaming pot sat on the middle of the cart
“F..food…food…food” Finch’s hands twitched in the blankets as he watched Asema fill a cup, bringing it closer, “f..food…food”
“Drink slow, your throat might still be a little off from the screaming” Asema warned holding the cup for him as Finch gulped it down as quickly as he could, fangs clinking on the glass in an oddly melodic way as Asema pulled the emptied cup away from him. Just those few mouthfuls and he was more than ready to pass out only held awake by the promise of more food waiting for him,
“Ok I think that’s more than enough for you” Finch had lost count of how long he’d been eating, but now he was sitting up and holding the cup himself, he was so thankful that vampires didn’t suffer from refeeding syndrome like some other species did, at some point he’d managed to spill it down his bare chest “I don’t think your stomach can hold much more. Sleep. You can have more when you wake up” Asema promised, wiping off the bit of mess and patting him again, “It’s almost sunrise anyway.”
“S..sleep” Finch nodded in agreement, falling back onto the pillows and staring at the ceiling
Are…we safe?
Yes?
Are you sure…? Finch glanced at his uncle again, vision blurry with tired tears,
“Safe” he nodded, turning to face the wall with a yawn before the two of them let themselves pass out for the time being.
