“Of course you can stay?” I give him a look of confusion.
The fact that he hasn’t attacked me previously gave me a reason to trust him, at least for now.
“I mean if you still want to, you can”.
“Aren’t you scared of me? Not even a little??” He asked quite shocked by my lack of fear.
“Do you want me to be?” I questioned back.
“Of course not!” He panicked. “I.. I like it here” he mumbled.
“Then stay. I honestly don’t care if you’re not 100% human. You’re nice, therefore, I like you.” I say as I feel my face heat up by the end of it.
He didn’t say anything. All he did was walk up to me. We kinda just stared at each other for a few seconds. Or minutes. Actually, I’m not sure, cause I kept looking at his eyes. ‘Dark brown, almost black, with a bit of red..’ I noted. ‘Wait, what am I doing?’ I snapped back to reality. Apparently, he was trying to say something but I didn’t notice.
“Rozo? Hello? Rozo? Rose? You there?” He waved his hand in front of me.
“Huh? What? I spaced out, sorry— wait did you just call me rose?” Well, I guess he’s not wrong.
“Yes, yes I did and you responded to it.” He grinned. His lil’ fangs poked out as he did.
“Well, Lily, I can’t be the only one with a cute nickname” I retorted. He laughed at that.
“Anyways, what were you trying to tell me?” I remembered the one-sided conversation before this.
“Oh! I was just gonna ask if it alright to hug you..” he said looking bashful. “Since you’re the first person who let me stay.. you know, instead of freaking out.”
“A hug? That’s all?” I blinked. “Sure.”
I opened my arms and he swooped in. Though I would never admit it, I let out a squeak of surprise when he easily lifted me up. I forgot about vampire strength.
“Are you sure this whole thing wasn’t just a plan to bite me?” I joked and hugged back as he put me down again. Who knew vampires were this cuddly.
“Crap! I’ve been found out” he fake gasped. We both laughed.
This is going to be fine.
