Ryuu's POV:
We turn to look at the girl on the other side of the cave slowly. She looks at our faces and her guard shoots up even higher than before. When she spots the amulet in my hand, we see shock in her features for all of three seconds before she is in front of me and we can register that she moved. She takes the amulet gently out of my hands and looks at it confused and gradually more upset.
She looks at us with suspicion and anger, “Why do you have my mother’s amulet?” she says. For the first time, I can detect an accent in her voice, very old English. My brothers and I look at her with a mixture of shock and pity. Her parents must have known that she couldn't die and that if they stayed with her, she would be hunted down and tortured to death. They probably took out her heart while she slept wo that they had proof of her "death" and she doesn't know because it grew back before she woke up.
“What year do you think it is?” Khidell asks softly. He’s probably already figured out how long she’s been on this mountain based on the age of the amulet. “How old are you?”
She is taken back by his sudden question, she looks at him in confusion, “It’s 973, and I’m 16 years old, why?” she looks so secure in her answers that I can’t help but feel devastated. We all turn away from her except Khidell.
He looks at her and with a grim expression, “It’s 1789, you’ve been alive for over 816 years.” She looks at him shocked and he continues, “You’re 832 years old.” She stands there and then me and my brothers turn back to look at her.
She stares at Khidell for a few moments and then throws her head back and starts laughing. she bends over and grips her knees, laughing so hard. We stare at her with varying emotions. I can't help, but feel insulted that she thinks my brother lied to her, while Khidell continues to look at her with a grim expression as if was expecting this reaction. Kalan seems infatuated with her blatant disregard for our positions and Kuro seems to be the apathetic one this time, really accenting his kingly features. His eyes stare at her laughing form blankly, as if she were a servant doing his laundry. His silver hair is a few shades lighter than his liquid silver eyes and his power to bend light makes him the perfect example of stereotypical elven royalty.
We are demons though our father, the King, is an elf that can levitate objects and our mothers are each something else. My mother was a fairy and could control colors, I’m a case that doesn’t receive their powers from their parents, Kalan’s mother was a water nymph and he got his powers from her. Khidell’s mother was a panther and could control plants he got a variation of both father’s and his mother’s powers, he can't control plants or wildlife, but the earth itself, and Kuro’s mother has never been seen. No one knows who or what she is except Kuro and the king. I think she must have been another elf since he has pointed ears and features of royalty, there is no way he is a demon with those features.
Anyway, when she stops laughing and looks back up at us she pauses and scoffs. "You can't seriously think I'll but that bullshit," she pauses and the smile slips off her face slightly, "right?" she stares at us incredulously for a moment before shaking her head and moving on. "Whatever, I don't care how you knew about this," she holds up the amulet. "but if I find out you hurt my parents, I'll destroy you, prince or not." she suddenly gets serious at the end and Khidell, Kalan, and I flinch. Kuro sighs and nods his head.
