We make it to the security room, it's in the very back of the office with a messed up label on the door that says "ecuty roo" due to the years of not being repainted. I don't think this room is ever visited, that would explain why no one ever gets caught selling drugs in the middle of the cafeteria.
Kurt is already standing at the door ready for us to go, but he is rapidly tapping at his phone like no tomorrow and I already know he is fighting with his ex boyfriend. Poor Kurt, it must suck being a closeted gay, seriously only those in the group chat and his ex knows he is gay. I don't think any of his football friends care enough to know his sex life, speaking as Kurt is always preoccupied with school work.
Veronica clears her throat and grabs Kurt's attention, "Sorry," He says as he stuffs his phone into his pocket and forces a smile. I can tell he wants to bring his hand up to his eyes and wipe away some oncoming tears - by the the fact that he brings his hand up to mouth for a split second then drops it back to his side - but he doesn't want to bring attention to them. "How long have you been standing there?"
"Not long," I reply with a reassuring smile of my own, though coming from me it isn't as effective as it could be had it come from Veronica.
"Good, good," He sighs just as Veronica unlocks the door and let's us in. The room was dark with only the light from the computer monitors - there were about four, each had grids of three by threes.
"So, what was the date you needed to see? What did you need this for again?"
"Oh," I say, pulling my vision away from the screens and towards my girlfriend, "August 23rd and for a class project on bullying. We heard there was a fight on that day and we were hoping to see it."
"Right," She says before sitting at a rolly-chair in front of the computes and typing away at the keyboard. I hate lying to her, it physically hurts me, but I can't do anything. I can't tell her because then she'll worry and she is already stressed enough. If she wasn't already head deep in her own issues I'd tell her. I was actually planning on telling her after learning that Kurt told his coach, but now that I know Jessica is back from Pennsylvania how can I tell her something like a potential suicide note?
Then all the screens flicker for a split second as the video date changes. "Where was the fight?"
"In front of my locker apparently," Kurt replies, "It's locker number 478."
"478? That's on screen three, top left." Veronica informs and I know she is close with the head security guard, but it makes me question, how many times has she been in here that she actually has it memorized like this? I am really confused and curious, but if I were to ask that it'd be weird, so I don't.
After about a few hours of watching through the video Veronica falls asleep and it is just me and Kurt staring at the screen. Not gonna lie a few times I thought that we were looking at either the wrong screen or just the wrong day. Then we finally find it. The person walked up to the locker, looked to his sides, then slipped the note into the locker.
Kurt and I stare in amazement at what we just saw then we turn to one another and in perfect unison we whisper a confused, "The janitor?"
