“You know what I am capable of, so consider my previous actions a warning.
Attempt to meddle with me again, and I will kill you Toriaku.”
“Yeah, I’m not messing with another witch anytime soon.”
“Good. Keep it that way.”
“Although, I believe I’ve heard of a warrior that might serve as a better target.”
“You don't scare me. Whatever you plan, I have seen that you will not succeed, not on your current path. I have seen kingdoms burned and innocent Wiccan killed before my eyes, a little demon with all bark and no bite will not sway the mighty oak of my faith in my goddess.”
“Oh, we will see.”
“Hecate judges all with the same scale, she will see through your haze.”
“We shall see how well your goddess plays, witch.”
“There is nothing you can do to change what she has seen. You travel your road, and you will perish. Only by diverging from the chosen path will you find what you seek. You are a miserable excuse for a demon, Tori. You say you plan everything but you mistake cleverness for sloth, and it will be your downfall.”
“I will simply wait for my time to come.”
“I hope so, I am intrigued to see if you can finally end my people or if I will prevail.
And I know what I said, little Tori. You are nothing but a bird squawking for all to hear.
“Witch, this war involves you too while I won't mess with you, you are still a player.”
Hmm, I may be a player, but the hanged man doesn't speak for the night to hear.”
“The tarot cards are what you believe in then. I shall shatter the future you believe in so much”
“I believe in the word of my goddess, who speaks through my hands. The day you destroy a goddess will be a day to remember indeed.”
“I have been silent as of yet, and I must ask that you not injure my people. We can grant you riches, or whatever it is you seek.” King Thor finally speaks.
“What I want is an end to this world, not your petty material goods.” Toriaku retorts.
“You are foolish and self-confident, and it will tear you apart. The gods weave our paths, it is our choice to cut the strings, yet you are too vain to even see them wrapped around your neck.” Veronica replies.
“Perhaps I will die one day, but today is not the day, nor is the next.” Toriaku says calmly.
“Your fate will choke your ambition, just as you choked the life from my people!” Veronica yells.
“Cranes want to help all that need it, we live to serve all.” Thor says.
“I believe in changing fate, but your rebellious nature plays right into their hands.
And if cranes want to help so much, how come they left me to die?
Do those who don't follow your beliefs not deserve salvation?”
“You forgot us, and we perished for it!” Veronica yells, now losing her temper.
“And belief in gods simply because it is the easiest way to escape the troubles of life, is the position of weaklings.”
“I do not bow. I may seek guidance, I may borrow power, but I NEVER bow.”
“The cranes bow and look how they live. Peacefully, unlike you, filled with torment.”
“Our kind was nearly eradicated as well, while we care for others, our own is our first priority.
“You had ample warning of his presence, yet you ignored us! I had to watch my sisters burn because you could not spare one crane to warn us of the danger!” Veronica yells, now engulfed in rage.
“It is too much to risk the life of a crane if it might die before reaching you.”
“ONE LITTLE TORI TORE US APART! Now I will watch as he does the same for you.”
“The damn witch has a point you say you aren't selfish but this would clearly contradict that.”
“Watch your tongue or I will steal more than your physical form.”
“Mine or Tori's?” Thor asks concerned.
“Both.”
“Do you not see that for once in my immortal existence I am agreeing with you.”
“You agree with me on more than you know.”
“Yes, however, we disagree on more.”
“I wonder what the point in all of this fighting really is. Revenge? Material gain? Protection? It all seems oh so... pointless.”
“The cranes just want to live.” Thor pleads.
“But are they so innocent? All souls are blackened with sin, even your kingdom's.”
“Once Tori came the kingdom has changed and not for the better.”
“The blame does not solely rest on his shoulders. So where did you come from, demon? I'm curious.
“That story will come eventually. For now, the present is more important wouldn't you agree.”
“Aww, but I'm not involved in any of that. Besides, no one's fighting right this instant, no? Even though I wish you were...”
“Yes, however, I will strike eventually.”
“Eventually, or whenever you figure out how to break out of a puny necklace?”
“It will be soon.”
“I hope so, I tire of waiting for the blood to flow.
And what of the mighty warrior? For someone who is supposedly the champion of the cranes, he remains silent among these matters.”
And with the participants having no answer, the council adjourned.
