Bellator lies asleep, one leg hung off the bed. He may be a good warrior, but he is not without his quirks.
Veronica watches and bangs her face onto her staff multiple times, before promptly hitting Bellator in the balls.
With a jolt, he awakens, feeling the immense pain in his groin
“What the fuck!” Bellator yells.
“Finally, I thought I would have to set this whole place ablaze before you woke. Enjoy the nap, sleeping beauty?”
“Alright, alright, I'm awake. Next time don't hit me in the balls, I'll be infertile if you keep this up.”
“I think your complexion handles that for you.
“Oh fuck off, I'll go grind the wheat for breakfast toast.”
“No need, I've had my fill. We need to speak. NOW.”
He turns around just in the door frame, and sighs.
“What?”
The door shuts, pushing Bellator back into the room before it promptly locks with a wave of the oak staff
“You seem to not realize the urgency of your situation.
“It's a demon, I've sealed him once I'll do it again. We wouldn't be doing this if it weren't for your daft apprentice, whatever her name was.”
“I handled my apprentice's mistake myself.”
“Or why there is a strange woman in your room. Do neither of these things bother you?”
I've had plenty of strange women in my room, doesn't phase me.
“Hmm, none quite like me, I can assure you.”
“That's what they all say.”
Veronica ponders for a moment, before deciding on a simple spell she mutters under her breath, which sets Bellator's foot on fire.
He jumps in surprise and attempts to blow the fire out with a nearby blanket
“HOLY SHIT!!!”
The fire burns a bright green before fading without any damage.
“Have I proven my point?”
“Fine, fine. I was hoping for a good night on the town, but you seem to have other plans. What is it?”
“You'll be needed soon. There is a danger beyond this silly demon, something that intends to capitalize on your war. Do not take this conflict lightly, or it will be your downfall. The door opens and Veronica begins to walk out, but turns back And I wouldn't mind a night on the town if it survives.”
She vanishes into a light smoke.
“Odd, I could've sworn I didn't sleep with her.”
A mysterious voice echoes through the room
“AND YOU NEVER WILL!”
“Yeah you would die first, probably by burning.” Toriaku says through the amulet.
“Shut up Toriaku, I don't feel like dealing with you.”
He gets up and leaves the room, slamming the door behind himself.
Veronica appears within the amulet.
“Yeah, I think you have it easy.”
“Do I?” Toriaku replies.
“I could help you set things in motion, but you refuse and you wither away in your ornate tomb. Truly a disappointing fate, Hecate would be disappointed.”
She disappears from the amulet.
After donning his armor, Bellator steps outside, viewing the town. “I wish they'd hurry up building the aqueducts, I'm seriously tired of going all the way to the well.” He thinks.
“You're just too lazy to walk that far. For a warrior, you tend to complain a lot. I wonder what they see in you...” Veronica mutters while following Bellator along the rooftops where most of the passerby cannot see her.
