I've had an appreciation for cheesy romance novels since I was about 19. I used to read about Native American warriors and Viking chieftains (I recommend "The Last Viking" by Sandra Hill) and werewolves... okay I still like to read things like that, lol. But now I read a lot more monster-themed romances than just ones with werewolves. (Because they actually exist now.) I've read a few about orcs, actually. There's aren't many, and most of them aren't very well-written, but they were fun. I found a few with Bigfoot, recently too. Those were hilariously awesome! One of my favorites features Krampus as the main love interest! It's meant as a parody, but it's very well-written and actually pretty hot! I guess I love how a monster romance can be both steamy, and silly at the same time. I gush over beautiful romances like a teenager, but can't help rolling my eyes at cheesy dialogue. Is there such a thing as a cynical romantic? If so, I am one.
If you guys ever want a list of the novels mentioned above let me know! I'll mention it in the next post.
A tawdry monster romance in a high fantasy setting.
Jenny/Ghorza, a geeky 29-year-old who dreams of adventures beyond her humdrum life, is transported to a fantasy world like the ones she's spent her whole life dreaming about. There she is captured by mercenaries, but is soon "rescued" by Vargan, the leader and orc king of a raiding band of orcs. Vargan, however, gives her a choice: she can either be released and left to wander the forest of a foreign land alone, or be given shelter and protection in exchange for one thing... she must surrender her freedom as his "human pet."
WARNING: Story is for audiences 18+. It contains adult themes and suggestive situations.
