The machines are on an attempt to talk to the humans! They have figured out the lenses that we see them through and trying to get "our attention", the humans.
Meanwhile, in the wonder, why are they so poorly drawn. Are they an episode of "Poorly Drawn Lines" or "XKCD" with all these scinecey things?
