Theatre Cap Challenge was started by an Australian anaesthetist to improve patient safety.
Imagine; you are working in the theatre, but you do not know/remember your colleagues' name. You might need to ask help quickly (eg. the patient is bleeding, arrested), but you cannot simply do that, because you don't know your colleagues' name. This can jeopardise patient safety.
You might think that it's silly people do not know who they work with, but it is everyday happening. Especially big tertiary hospitals with new faces (regularly rotating junior doctors, surgeons, agency staff).
This is simple but a brilliant idea!
