Read Short Horror :: Mansion

This story was inspired by a real life event.

It was the perfect house. Big rooms, multiple restrooms, and in the middle of a forest. And it was really cheap.

Extremely cheap.

A family looked at the house and thought that it was perfect, tossing out their cash for this mansion.

However, just a few months after they've moved in, strange things happened.

"I was walking in the halls when I heard the creaks of the floor. I thought my children were behind me, or our family cat, so I turned around. But no one was there. Instead, I saw the wooden floor being pressed down by an invisible force as the creaks sounded louder and louder.

I was terrified.

So I ran. As far as I could, and as fast as I could, to the end of the hallway. But the sound sped up and I could almost feel a person breathing on my neck.

Before I felt its hand catches me, I turned a corner into the master bedroom, and the creaking stopped. I told my husband about it the next day, but he didn't believe me."

This terrifying tale haunted the woman. Afraid that this force may harm her children, she wanted to ban them from the house, but her husband would listen.

"I thought she was just being overly sensitive. My wife really doesn't like to be alone.

But once, I was alone in our house; all by myself. I turned on the radio and prepared to work out.

I was stretching, far from the radio.

Before I could even start, the music changed from a light hip-hop into a soft, eerie melody. The scratches of the radio helped conclude the show.

It was strange, but like any men, I assumed that it was only the station's mistake.

Oh, how wrong was I. It wasn't a mistake.

I witness with my two very eyes; the knob slowly turning itself, changing the different stations. I hear the same creaking from the floor, and I understood my wife's fright.

Same, I ran as far as I could. And by the time I turned into or master bedroom, the sound stopped and I panted for breath.

Strange, but the master bedroom seemed safe. As soon as everyone reach home, I locked my wife and my children in there with me until the police came."

The little kid spoke,

"Mommy and Daddy are both shaking. It was really scary. Daddy even has his gun out for any invaders.

Daddy was even laughing and crying, saying something that I couldn't really hear. Something like, '.... Satan.... Our lord.... Come... Sacrifices....'

But the invader is no other than mommy.

At least, I think so.

As soon as daddy locked the door, mommy's eyes started staring up at the wall, with her arms around us.

Her pupils went to the back of her head and her eyes turned black.

She said in a demonic voice to us:

'You can run, but you can't hide.

You can't escape, but you can try.'

Daddy was extremely frightened, but he wouldn't shoot mommy.

No, daddy wouldn't. Right?

Soon, mommy went to sleep after a loud bang.

Daddy said that mommy must be tired, so he dragged her to the bed.

He sang us, me and my brother, lullaby and helped us onto bed.
