The Nanomancer

Kiber Lacer 8

Kiber Lacer 8

Feb 07, 2018

After his explanation, Mr. Kradres was silent as he guided the Lev-Car away from the general traffic to the massive stadium. As they drew closer, Kiber realized just how big the structure was, probably the biggest structure by overall area I have ever seen, he thought to himself. Mr. Kradres aimed the Lev-Car at what Kiber assumed was a private garage in the towering wall. The car slowly levitated into its parking bay in the white marble decked garage and both men exited. Mr. Kradres led the way to one wall with a sensor in it, as he approached, an opening silently slid open to reveal the interior of another well appointed elevator. Once Kiber had entered a subtle shift in momentum told him they were ascending.

As the elevator continued its course, Kiber began to feel a slight rhythmic vibration going through the walls, floor and ceiling. The thought crossed Kiber's mind, being trapped in a metal box, plummeting hundreds of stories down was an easy way to kill a very wealthy business man. But he was confident that if that were the case, he would be able to deal with the situation with relative ease. Still, that vibrating is putting me a little on edge, he thought. At the same time deciding not to alarm his employer with any half formed assassination plot theories.

As if reading Kibers mind, Mr. Kradres smiled, almost shivering with joy he said, "No need to be alarmed, although I am happy to see my money is at work in your caution." He paused for a moment to add effect as the vibrations grew more pronounced, adding a slight rattle to the elevator. When he resumed his voice grew steadily with excitement. "A capacity of two point two million people, each seat with a neural uplink for enhanced vision so everyone can see a close up of the action, able to host up to ten fights simultaneously on the arena floor with adjustable environmental conditions! WELCOME TO THE SHATTERDOME!!! As the elevator door opened, they were assaulted by a wave of sound generated by the full stadium, STOMP STOMP CLAP, STOMP STOMP CLAP.
