I felt reality calling me back into the real world where time existed.
“Bule? Honey, are you hungry?” I can hear my mother’s muffled voice in my cocoon of blankets.
“Your father and I wanted to have dinner at Johnny’s. Do you want to come?” There was silence. I could hear my heart pounding slowly. My head hurts.
“Honey if you want anything to eat, there are leftovers in the refrigerator. Please eat something ok.”
Silence filled the room once again. I know they are still waiting outside my door hoping that I would come out. But I didn’t. They walked away after a few minutes. I took a deep breath and wrapped the blankets tighter around me. I closed my eyes. Just like a drunkard with his alcohol, sleep helped me run away. This time sleep didn't give me dreams, it gave me darkness to rest my soul.
