I sat in the very back of the bus as it made its ways up to the top where the orphanage was located in. Pine trees and snow outside my window was the last thing I saw before I closed my eyes. When I opened them again I was in the hospital, surrounded by nurses and my family. Everyone was crying tears of happiness when I was woken up. I heard blurry voices thanking God for such a wonderful miracle. My head felt as it was underwater. Nothing made sense, and soon I fell back into the darkness. When I came to my senses again, my parents were there. They hugged me and told me everything was alright. At first, I thought they were assuring me that I was alive and well. But then I saw the looks on their faces. I knew something was wrong but I didn’t know what. I tried to sit up but my body slipped to one side. I looked over trying to figure what happened. Little black dots started to fill my vision, voices turned into high pitch screams. There was nothing there. No thumb, no fingers, no arm, all the way up to my shoulder. It was all gone.
