The twins stood in the door frame of the metal encased room that made no attempt to hide the screams that surely erupted from its depths. Well, at least we finally got out of that. Eclipse thought to his sister.
Yeah, now we can finally check out this place. Maybe even sabotage them in the process. Luna responded. Eclipse nodded, letting his sister lead the way. As the two exited the room they laid eyes on a rather dark living room with all the light coming in through the open door leading to the next room over being. Against the far wall sat a young man with headphones on, his face illuminated by whatever he had up on his computer screen. He looked up at the twins.
“Wait, you guys actually let them go?” He called to someone in the bright room which all the light came from.
“Yef.” Came the muffled reply of the twins previous “interrogator” as she walked into the doorway and stuffed a few pieces of deli meat in her mouth. She swallowed, “If they fuck up we can always just get rid of them, if you know what I mean.” She said, walking away from the door and back into the bright room to find some other thing that was safe for consumption. Proceeding the hollow sound of a knee against a washing machine, she moonwalked back into the doorway asking, “Do you know where the chocolate is?” The young man held up a large plastic bag, keeping his eyes on his screen. May ran in, trying to reach for the bag, “Gimme!”
“But it’s already empty.”
“You asshole!”
This is weird. Eclipse thought to his sister.
Agreed.
“Oh, yeah!” May’s attention was drawn back to the twins, just suddenly realizing they still existed. “You guys can make yourselves at home. Don’t go outside though, we’ve got stuff set up that you don’t wanna get involved with.”
“Um… Okaaaaay.” The twins said in simultaneous awkwardness.
“We’ll just go… somewhere else.” Eclipse said, inching towards the only visible exit and the one furthest away from the squabbling siblings.
“Yep, see ya later!” Luna said cheerfully, an awkward smile plastered on her face.
The twins half pushed each other out of the darkroom and into the brightness of the kitchen. It was rather normal looking in. They didn’t know what to expect from a bunch of people who planned to take over the world but they didn’t expect their house to look so… normal. They saw a little coffee table with snack foods centered in the middle, a note saying “take what you want, dinner’s at 7.” Behind it, there were a set of bay windows letting in a butt load of sunlight and giving a nice view of the backyard. The outside view was normal with more childish things than what they expected. Luna noticed three people, it was May and Irene trying to get another person of the playset yelling, “Come on Derek!, you are not a kid anymore now get inside and help Ace with the weapons!”
Derek proceeded to yell back saying “If I’m not a kid anymore then stop telling me what to do, I can do what I want!”
May, looking a little convinced, said to Irene “eeelllll, he does have a point, Irene, I mean you are being really bossy, just let him do what he wants….”
“SHUT IT! Derek, if you don’t get inside and help Ace I’m going to blow up this stupid playset!” Irene said.
“YOU MONSTER…..” Derek said actually looking serious.
“Andddd, have you watch me do it” Sneered Irene
After that Derek was practically sprinting to the house. Luna and Eclipse looked at each other in somewhat disappointment, with Eclipse saying, “Are they really the ones who found a way to assassinate our president? Because if so, this world is kinda already fucked…”
“Yea, but didn’t that short girl say that there was dangerous stuff in the yard?, Anyway, that is not going to happen, because we're gonna stop them!” Luna said excitedly.
Just then someone stepped into the room. The twins then turned to see who it was.
“Well, I would like to know your plan to stopping them if you don’t mind. It’s not like it’s gonna be hard.” Said Rex with a yawn.
Luna clearly scared, “Y-you heard everything!?”
“Well, it’s kinda hard not to, considering you are in the hallway…” Rex said as he was turning into the kitchen. “Don’t worry I won’t tell anyone, not like they will believe me” mumbled rex as he grabbed the entire bowl of snacks from the table. As he was turning to go back to his room
Eclipse then hurried towards him, grabbed him by the shoulder and said, “If I were you I go tell them anyway, so why aren’t you doing that?”
Rex pause for a moment but the said bluntly “I don’t give a crap what happens to them…. as long as I have food and my computer space it’s fine, and plus it will be interesting to watch and see what happens” then Rex brushed away Eclipse's hand and continued down the hallway with the bowl of snacks to his room.
Both Eclipse and Luna just stood there, surprised by what just happened Luna said, “Soooooo, did we just get found out?”
“Yea, I guess so…” Eclipse said turning around to continue up the hallway “But regardless of him not telling anyone or not we need to watch out for him, he could be a problem in the future..”
“Hey! Wait up, where are you going?” Luna said as she tried to keep up.
Eclipse stopped and said “...I don’t know where I’m going actually…”
“We are gonna need a person who is not that smart and will blindly show us everything.” Luna said looking around the room.
“Sooo anyone here?...” Eclipse said smiling.
“Ha Ha, very funny, but I mean someone who wouldn’t be able to go against us if they caught us sabotaging.” As she walked to the back door and quickly opened it. As she did Derek came flying through the door and falling onto the ground. “Like him.” Luna said as she looked over at her brother.
“OH, it’s the man-child that was playing on the playground!” Eclipse said as he pointed and Derek.
Derek glared at him, “Hey! Who do you think you are?! Calling me a man-child...I’m still seventeen.”
Eclipse ignored Derek’s response and turned to Luna saying, “Well how do we know he actually knows anything?”
“Know what?” Derek said as he got back on his feet.
Luna looking agitated glared at her brother saying, “Well what choice do we have? This is probably the stupidest one here!”
“He-” Derek said as he was interrupted by Eclipse getting just as irritated. “E-X-A-C-T-L-Y, he is the stupidest one here it’s so unlikely he will know the entire way through the house!.”
Derek stepping in between them stating “Actually I DO know every inch of this house because I own it”
The twins frozen, awkwardly looking at Derek as Luna said, “You actually OWN something, the most I thought you would own would be a pet rock…”
Derek obviously annoyed said, “...ANY WAY, you guys must be the new ‘recruits’ if you stop insulting me I could just show you around-” Just as he was about to end his sentence, Irene stepped through the back door practically on fire. “DEREK! I thought I told you to go help Ace…..and what are not doing?”
“Uhhhh, not helping Ace?” Dere said jokingly. As he said that Irene looked at May and nodded. May then grabbed Derek in a chokehold and dragged him out of the room and up the stairs saying, “Come on you lazy ass, we can’t spend all day lazing around. Much as I’d love to.”
“HEY! You two…” The twins turned to face Irene. “Could you guys come with me?” As Irene said that she lead Eclipse and Luna upstairs to Ace’s room. Once they entered the room at the end of the hall they saw Ace and Derek taking apart guns and putting them back together, with Derek looking like he was about to throw up. Irene turned to face the two of them and said, “For your first assignment you two will follow Ace’s directions….well actually my directions.” Luna and Eclipse both looked at each other. “Listen up, all you have to do is clean the parts the two idiots give you and pile the same parts with each other. Got it?”
“Uhhhh not really…” The twins said at the same time.
“Good!” Irene said as she was leaving. “Oh, and sorry your first assignment is so boring, but it’s better to do something than nothing at all.” Then she left.
“Well, we were about to do something…” Luna mumbled angrily as she looked at her brother. Who was staring intently at the piece he was handed.
“We could sabotage these gun parts so they have faulty weaponry.” Eclipse thought to his sister.
“Wouldn’t they notice us?” Luna thought back.
“If we can think of an excuse maybe we can get away with it.” They glanced at each other and nodded.
After several hours, Rex walks in saying “ya know, you really shouldn’t allow those two Germans to help”. Ace looking confused and asked, “Why.”
Rex smirked “Because they have been breaking all the weapons since the moment you gave them one.
“Crap!” thought Luna, “what are we gonna do?!” looking at her brother panicking.
Her brother put his hand on her shoulder, somewhat reassuring her and thought back “Relax”.
Just as Eclipse was about to say something Derek said, “Oh come on….just because you can’t trust them doesn’t mean they are 100% doing something to get us caught.”
“Whatever….anyways Irene sent me to come get Ace.” Rex said turning around.
With Ace looking pale in the face whispered, “AWW crap, what did I do now?..” as he followed Rex out the door.
Eclipse looked at his sister and thought, “Wow….they really don’t listen to that guy.”
“Who cares now we have a chance to leave and do something more damaging.” Luna thought as she walked towards the door.
“Wait!” Eclipse thought as he rushed to stop her, ”What about him?” They both looked at Derek taking a nap under the table.
Luna stopped using her telepathic power to communicate and yelled out loud “REALLY, that is what you’re worried about!?” When she said this Derek woke with a start, scrambling to get up and hitting his head in the process. “OW.” He said looking up, “Oh, it’s just you two, I thought Irene caught me sleeping.”
Both twins looked at each other. “Great you idiot, now he’s awake… what do we do now!?” Eclipse thought, looking for a solution. “!...I know, RUN!” Luna thought as she grabbed her brother’s hand and bolted out the door.
