Chapter 6

Ethan is awoken by the noise of horrified chatter. He springs out of bed and rushes towards the source of the sound, Through the vague and aboriginal hallway, lit only by a few candles mounted on the wall. The entire manor was creaking from the cold and snow building up on the lawn outside. After dashing through the hallways, he finally locates the origin of the commotion.

Addison’s room was almost similar to Ethan’s, except the wallpaper had a different pattern and color, purple and white, with spades.

When Ethan arrives, he spots it. The body, belonging to Addison Trevino, a guest who was attending the dinner party.

There was a knife in the chest, the clothes painted in blood. “Addison. Dead…” Mutters Hayden, staring at the horrid scene, unable to look away.

The thick wine colored liquid was reaching their feet.

Kai recoils out of disgust.

“I am not letting that touch my claws!” she says as she scampers out of the room, peering in through the doorway.

Ethan steps in, calmly. “People, It looks like there is a murderer running amidst us.” Says Ethan. He saunters up and squats before the body, his tail curling and uncurling on the floor. “What are you doing Ethan?” Says Olivia, frightened.

“I need this for data.” He says as he grabs hold of the knife lodged into Addison’s chest, and with one swift movement, he yanks it out, causing the wound to bleed more.

Erin looks at him suspiciously. “But why do you need to collect data when you’re the one who murdered him? You’re obviously acting so we would believe you, Ethan Byrnes.”

Says Erin.

Ethan Stares at him as he drops the knife to the ground. “Why do you say that? Isn’t it obvious? I would never murder anybody! Not for millions of dollars!” he says, angered.

Alexander whispers to Emma, just loud enough for him to hear. He had a sly smile plastered on his face. “Woah check it out, Ethan, Best Police officer in Great Britain, just killed someone.”

Ethan shoots him a look and Anthony steps up. “I say we detain him. Until we get answers. Or someone else dies while he’s detained. It’s the safest way, we cannot have a murderer running around this mansion killing us.” He says, the same serious look on his face.

“That seems like a good plan. Someone run and grab a rope while we hold him down!” Erin shouts as he suddenly lunges at Ethan, pinning him to the ground. Anthony props him up and holds his arms in place.

Olivia runs back into the room holding a ring of rope, which she hands to Erin.

“Here you go.” She says, tears forming in her eyes.

“Guys, you have the wrong idea! I swear I didn’t kill him! I have no reason to! Untie me this instant!” He begins shouting, attempting to fight them.

“i’m sorry Bud, but this is for your own good. Like we said, we can’t have a murderer running loose.” Says Erin, Shrugging.
