Carl had arrived, before he could even thank his sister for giving him a ride, she had already left. Talk about nice...
Carl only sighed, of course she left him already. She literally had no soul whatsoever, she always leave last second just in case Carl changed his mind. She was a great sister but always pulling such a stunt? That's mean.
Carl hadn't even had time to properly glare at the massive mansion yet but he could already tell from a quick glance that Jim was definitely labelled high-classed and probably wealthy. How nice, huh?
Carl had only arrived for a second, please let his friends be here because one, he need to apologize and two, he just needed them in general. A gothic gal had stood upon a stage, singing her heart out. It didn't take long before Carl realized that that was Maria, Oscar finally persuaded her, eh?
Carl quickly walked around, ignoring most people since he didn't feel like socializing at all and he wanted to find Jackson because that said that they'll be here. He had walked upon a tanned boy with black and red written over his clothes. Wait, is that...
"Jackson!"
The boy could barely hear it over the loud and booming music but luckily he did. Jackson looked relaxed, not super religious at all.
"Hey, Carl, how are you?"
Never mind that Carl thought, why are you wearing black and red? However, of course Carl didn't actually say that out loud, lucky he didn't too cause he would have been labelled rude immediately.
"Nothing much, what happened to white, I thought it was your colour of the season?"
Jackson had guilt written all over his face like he didn't ask to wear this either.
"It's a punishment from god, a way of forgiving a sin that I've committed during the past week."
Carl, confused but kind of understand, only nodded in return.
"Okay then, have you seen Jim?"
"Jimothy Jones? Your lifelong crush, the jock you stalk all the time? That one, Yeah, I've seen him, he went to the living room with his friends. He was looking for you apparently..."
Carl mentally felt his checks turn crimson red, why, oh why did Jackson have to say it like that??
Carl ran past, ignoring his friend's desperate yell as they started to fade away along with the creeping shadows. Just a little further. Couples had their arms and hands around each other out in the hallways and such. Making out, kissing, you name it and they'll do it, believe me. Carl's speed lowered as he pasted a certain yet familiar couple in the hallways: Tanned jock with dark glasses and boy with ocean blue eyes and golden blond hair... awkward.
A certain vibration had came from the pockets of Carl's jeans, causing him to shiver a bit. He took it out and clicked on the latest message.
JimothyJones:
Okay, where are you right now, I'm at the kitchen. It the third door down from the entrance. Meet me there.
CarlHanson:
Geez, sorry just got a little lost but quick question. Are Theo and Liam like an item?
JimothyJones:
Why'd you ask?
CarlHanson:
Just walked past them making out in the hallways, that's all so I just thought that maybe they're a thing.
Carl sighed but kept walking after he got no reply from the boy. He had smiled when he made it to the empty kitchen (strange...) Jimothy was in there. As soon as he saw Carl, he gestured him to walk over and Carl did just that.
"You wanted to talk?"
Carl could feel his throat go sore but oh well...
"Yeah, actually I wanted to tell you something..."
Carl smiled, anything would be fine. Carl was just glad that he could hear Jimothy's dreamy and soothing voice.
"Actually, I really l-"
"FIRE!! RUN EVERYONE RUN!!"
Jim's sentence had been cut off and both boys turned their head at a surprising matching time only to catch glimpse of a fire heading their way, how nice, am I right?
Jim grabbed Carl's arm and ran out the closest exil before making sure everyone was out and safe. He then without thinking yelled:
"OKAY! WHICH IDIOT DID THIS?? I REPEAT! WHICH IDIOT?"
Carl watched the mansion starting to burn down to ashes... what a familiar scene he thought.
"I did, I'll make sure to make it up to you. Promise."
All heads twisted their directions to the owner with their hand in the air. Jackson Stanley. How unexpected, right?
Carl gasped. His perfect and righteous friend wouldn't ever dare to do this but he was yelling desperately earlier on and all so maybe he was asking for help? Carl felt the guilt stab him right through the chest and trust me, it's a real pain.
Jimothy looked surprised too.
"You?! Jackson Stanley, the golden student of the school? Why would you do such a thing though?"
"Because I just... I don't know... I just did, I guess"
Jimothy sighed before replying:
"You're paying me back then..."
Everyone had left after that, not bothered at all. Jim didn't finish his sentence either. Guess Carl will find out on Monday, huh?
