Another background, color studies for my pages :3 Really like doing these kind of things. And it helps make the process of making comics easier. :D Takes kinda time though. :P Hopefully while making the next coming chapters I can make the process easier but effective. :)
Ooh! Do your colors start out differently than when they finish? The left one looks much warmer than the moody right one. Love these sneak peeks into your art <3
Aawww thaaanks you guys! :3 They don't. hihiActually, I try to check on references of lighting and colors in the internet. Mostly towards my idols like Kevin Dart, Jasmin Lai, Kenard Park (and many more. :P I can't remember all of them. hihihi). Pahhretty much study how their art goes. These artist tend to only have solid color versus some artist that have paint-y style that for (as awesome and as amazed as I am by their work I) can't piece it out how stuff came together or try to do that style. :)) haha At least if I see basic color I know how to add the shadows and lighting :D Maybe its me. It really depends on the artist. :P But it also helps looking at color scripts of movies/tv shows especially now I'm really amazed by the works in "Mr Peabody and Sherman Show". They show also their behind the scenes on their tumblr account! :D You guys can check it out.
Add to that: (I accidentally pressed enter. :P) As much as possible I try to work on different "mood"/color choices. To get the mood I like or what is appropriate for the scene and style. So I make lots of thumnbails of how it may look like. :P That's why I need just simple colors first. But occasionally I place texture (for shading or lighting) so I know what brushes I used for that specific scene. :P The thing is, as much as I love doing these, it takes a long time to do them that it slows down the process of making the pages. :( That's why while finishing the script I have to find of a way to "color" the backgrounds faster. But still appropriate with the storytelling "storybook" way. :)
I'm sorry you guys but I don't think I can put up my pages these coming Dec. 4. :( I know I told you I'll be posting and working on the comic on the "Break" but some serious kind of things came up on those couple of months and I couldn't work on the comics. :( Still patching things up at the script when things kind of happened. :( It was very stressful and I couldn't continue to work on the comic. I was super excited to show you guys because of the love you've shown.
Even to the point I would forget behind the scenes post. T.T I'm totally sorry.
Ayma try to finish them as possible but I also need to breathe in and not stress about it. :) Thank you so much for the love, patience and positiveness you've brought throughout my first time I posted Finding Maria until now!
Heeey you guys! I feel so ashamed I totally forgot to post last friday and this friday. Been really busy.
Anyway, before I do comic pages, I do some thumbnails on how the pages would look. Will be posting the others next friday. Sorry again. (wearing the cone of shame)
Of these three tiers, the furthest right on the top tier is great, the second one of the middle tier is my most favorite, and of the lower tier; the left one is pretty nice, but the aforementioned middle tier design is the best in my opinion, just for the elegance that I think is there.
Trying to finalize Marikit and Maria. The suppose look of zeee characters. Didn't really yet like it so I kept sketching until I got the final ones you see in the comic today! :3
WAAAAHHH!!! Sorry you guys! Super late for the behind the scenes O.O Been out in about with places with no internet. Off and on! Until I totally forgot about this! (My bad!)
@destinyIntwined: Yuuup! I wanted her to be part animal especially an endangered animal from the Philippines which is the Philippine mouse deer :3 If she is a guardian of a forest or the mountain I wanted her to be part of them in some way. :P
First of all THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the support. From subscribing, liking, commenting and what not! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! <333 If I can give each and everyone one of you a HUG I will! :3
However this couple of months I’ve been struggling; Personally, and artist-wise. It has quite made an impact in making Finding Maria, illustrations and other shindigs. Some circumstances came up and some still emerging that has brought me Mr. STRESS in my life! He is not a happy camper you know?
With MR. STRESS coming to town and MRS. PRESSURE POTS visiting me once in a while I decided to take a “break” for a few months. Two months exactly. ☺ And by “break” I mean I won’t be uploading some pages and will be working on them on those couple of months.
I know they’ll be a HUGE HOLE TO FILL ON THOSE COUPLE OF MONTHS- BIG TIME!
DO NOT WORRY! Because I love you guys so much, I would like to share the behind the scenes of Finding Maria! Like how I came up with the designs of my characters <3 Even some backgrounds, thumbnails and more!
And maybe some sneak peaks of chapter two! ;)
That is how much I LOVE YOU GUYS! :D
So, be on the look out on FRIDAYS for the BEHIND THE SCENES and SNEAK PEAKS on FINDING MARIA! ☺
Hope you understand! :P
Next PAGE UPDATES will be on: DECEMBER 4, 2015! ☺ It’s a Friday, I’ve checked! ;)
