Actually no specific folktale inspired the story, but the illustration is inspired by Ivan Bilibin. And a show called Over the Garden Wall. The story itself is inspired by a manga called Blue Exorcist and The Ancient Magus Bride. I highly recommend The Ancient Magus Bride it is my favorite story in the world at the moment!!! And lolol I would be much more interesting if my name was ёлка but it's actually юлка ;)
Oooh, I've seen Bilibin's art in some children's folktale books... Blue Exorcist and The Ancient Magus Bride I've read and love <3 I gotta get up to date on both tho ;) And юлка is such a cute name! <3
