Happy New Year everyone! My New Life As A Dragon Faerie will resume soon! I felt the first few episodes I posted were sub-par, too much exposition, a bit too much info-dumping concealed in dialogue, etc. So I am in the process of rewriting the first few chapters before I resume posting the story. Should have that done within the next week or so.
I decided to scrap the part about Kai being from our Earth and say he's always been in the Fae world, which I am calling Azi'alaga. That way, instead of having to info dump stuff as Kai is being told everything at the beginning, I can instead weave facts about the world into scenes as the story unfolds. I think these four episodes I have here will drive a lot of people away from my webnovel because of me forcing in too much info too fast.
In the new opening to the story, Kai Hexum starts off as a Seelie Prince who was traumatized ten years ago after his mother was deemed Unseelie and exiled to the Expanse, a huge, wild ocean beyond Seelie control.
At Kai's 16th birthday party, events unfold that lead to him looking into a magic mirror like before, but instead of being a portal, it just triggers his "True Self." That's when he discovers he's a Dragon Faerie instead of a regular Faerie. Between that and the chaos that unfolds when he accidentally releases a dragon upon the party, he is deemed Unseelie and exiled as well. Now he is determined to find his mother and reunite with her after all these years, and he picks up a colorful crew of characters as he sails around the Expanse, fights monsters, runs afoul of pirates, is pursued by the Paragon Fleet, etc. Lots of action and adventure to come.
I had originally envisioned having part of the story set at an Academy, but as I was writing, I realized it felt kind of boring and that having him learn to master his powers while out adventuring would be way more interesting for me to write and for you to read. XD.
