I'm an independent comic artist who grew up with a fierce love of manga, robots and survival horror! When I'm not a socially awkward hermit I juggle around my family as an aunt of three wild kids and five dogs.
So, I'm sorry for the year long hiatus. I've been going through a long season of depression (covid didn't help) and rewriting Jeane to have WAY better writing and character development. My computer had broke and I decided to do something I haven't thought about in a long time. Make comics about myself. The truth is I've had autism and adhd ever since I was 3 and didn't feel comfortable sharing about it all these years until now...and recently I developed a physical disability, osteoarthritis. But that's ok! I found it helps drawing about my experiences in hopes that it'll resonate with other people like me and hopefully give people a positive chuckle. I hope you guys enjoy!
Now that we're moving to the fall season Solstice is going to be on pause until winter solstice. Until then Jeane is updating again! just in time for the spooky holiday coming ever so closer...
I've been working hard on an upcoming project for the summer ...and updates for 'Jeane' have been slow...for that I apologize. Again this project isnt dead and will continue little by little. The project I'm working on is gonna be a big deal since it's a *full color comic* (and a story i've had in mind for years!) it's gonna debut on tapas on June 21st! I'm super excited to show it to you guys!
I have an instragram where I regularly post wip snippets of the secret project and behind the scene works of jeane! hit me up
@donutarigato
ahhh it's good to be back AND recooperating for my laptop crashing. I was able to save everything though!....except the special font I had....that no longer exists on dropbox....:'D
welp! back to work! See ya in the new year!
Gotta get in gear for a big project, so Jeane and company are gonna take a hiatus for the duration of November! Until then Have yourself a safe and spooky halloween!
Just wanted to write down a little FYI for any readers/new-readers of the comic. I know this seems like a "choose your own adventure" comic but (and i'm sorry I haven't made this clear before) it's actually NOT.
The whole ideal of the comic having maps, item acquirement and "bad ending" death scenes is because it's a homage to survival horror video games that I adored and also influenced the comic.
The "bad ending" snippets ARE NOT canon to the story. It's more of a "what if?" or "GAME OVER" sequence that shows how it could've ended for her based on HER choice, not the reader's.
Of course your comments matter (period, cause I love you guys and I'm just grateful you're reading this) and at the same time it's kinda fun to see whether you guess was right or wrong! The story will progress further with the *right* choice....rrrrriiiiiight after the wrong choice. stay tuned!
It's no problem. Although I would recommend putting the detail about how this is a homage to survival horror video games in the description of the comic as I think that's a good way to sum up the series and give new viewers an understanding of what your comic is going for. That said I am enjoying the story and I cannot wait for more.
so....I'm not gonna beat around the bush, a major reason I had the comic on hiatus was a mix of a busy lifestyle all with a dollop of personal issues that made continuing the comic at the time...difficult. I'm not gonna stick to a set updating schedule I'm afraid but I don't want this comic to die. So let's do this.
