I read both! SJ has its pro/cons for readers just like Tap. You have an opportunity to gain new readers if you upload to SJ and they may look for you on Tap, also.
That's a hard question. But if you're not satisfied with SJ, then I say make an announcement that you're changing mediums? Up to you, I'm not checking many comics from SJ as much as I used, but I do stick around for a few I found :)
My other reason for turning away is that some of my pages go over the 500kb minimum and I just can't help that without making them really small. Creators have to pay $20 for a year of Donator benefits whilst Tapastic has a maximum size of 940px width and...20mb? More than enough
Of course I love your characters they're very interesting and the comic looks so great! I actually enjoy that the MC (Olivia) isn't this super happy or you know typical main character. She's still kind but she's more like Tomoko xD a bit embarrassing and 'weak' in a good way. which makes her so very interesting.
and Jack... who the fuck does not like Jack? I mean.. even he do ;)
I like how you're currently doing, and I think you're pretty fast. But as an artist I think it's more convenient to do more pages at once and post slower. In my experience fans prefer faster updates though.
Longer comics seems reasonable and stuff, especially for me since I don't check up tapastic daily (only every other day haha xd), and I feel like it would be easier for you, to keep the story consistent that way. But well, on the other hand, I really like this short updates (there is a lot of comics, that I subscribed to, but don't read, because I would feel bad if I would read it fast [darn my english, I hope you understand what I mean], so I leave them "for some other time"), because internet I guess? Anyway, I would bet on longer but slower, but do however you please - it would be fine by me anyway :P
I'm thinking of doing some type of VLOG where I talk about elements of my comic and the thought process behind it. Would anyone be interested? What topics are usually covered?
I kind of wanted to talk about gender portrayal in GATEKEEPER and other media....
I would certainly be interested in anything about GateKeeper. Any other topics would be hit or miss on my interest scale ofc, would have to wait and see :)
Meh, gender portrayal stuff has been done to death. I'm kinda bored of being told how oppressed I am because people dare to write fictional women this way or that way. :P Not that I assume that's what you'll say, but there you go - that's my initial reservation about the idea. Other topics in relation to Gatekeeper would be cool though! :D I'd give it a listen, no matter what, anyway. And, so long as you're sure you won't just tread beaten ground with the gender stuff, I'm sure that'd be fine too.
That would be so interesting! Any topic I would be great I think...maybe topics related to your process behind plotting, what all planning goes into making webcomics in general, creating dynamic characters, dialogue, deciding setting or character design...those are just some ideas off of the top of my head :') I personally would also be interested in gender portrayal-- I think it's an important topic, especially because I remember in the previous version people criticized Olivia despite her not having fully developed, so I think it would be relevant to discuss it in at least one video.
