This is the backstory for my comic Smoke,Fire, and Gold.
Once long ago before the earth there lived two brothers. They created the universe. They brought the world into existence and created all the living things to be perfect versions of his image. Life was in harmony and everything was perfect. The older brother looked over his creation and smiled but the younger brother did not. He grew bored of the perfection and wanted something interesting. He waved his hand and lifted monsters from the soil. Beings of pure malice to antagonize the animals of the world. He then created starvation, disease, and death to decimate populations. The younger brother laughed as his monster created mayhem everywhere they went. The older brother looked over what his brother had created and was appalled. He made his way into the hearts of men and empowered them to fight the monster legions. The younger brother saw as his monsters fell to the precision tactics of his older brother and cast many plagues over the armies of men. Every day a new person would be wheeled of to a grave. The monsters began to regain territory but the older brother used one of his greatest followers to help him seal the younger brother into a mountain. 150 years later the gods are a simply a myth and the war, known as the plague war, was not some divine will. Of course some people believe the old legends and in recent year some have even acted on them.
