It's been three years, do we still use the main page for updates? I don't actually know! But if we do, let me use it to share art and chat a little... I thought I'd share an illust I did yesterday night. This Hui Liang in a color scheme that doesn’t quite match her personality…
Grand Spirit Chapter 9 has been out for a week! Thanks so much for reading and subscribing.
In the time between the release of chapter 8 and 9, I graduated from two schools, attended a few conventions, found steady, full-time work and a host of other life-changing experiences… it’s kind of neat, but also…. wow… what a long break.

I feel guilty and happy at the same time, and also super motivated to keep doing my best here. So truly--you have all my gratitude!

Hi everyone! It's been a while and I'm sorry (and embarrassed) for having been quiet for so long! How are you?! My attention has been scattered all over the map, but I'm doing really well. It's time to narrow my focus a little and get back on track with things, so here's a small update!
Grand Spirit underwent some more revision and editing! I rewrote the upcoming chapter to meet those changes. Extras and promotional(?) content is also under works (extra art, character info... a height chart? :3c)! I'm aiming for an update this coming weekend! More details will come with it.
Here's a drawing of human Blue and Wang Min, grudgingly having lunch together. Blue wears glasses, and was probably the type to read comic books and adventure novels under his bed with a flashlight as a kid. Wang Min probably read all the same novels but pretends he hasn't. And they both like track and field (But for different events).
More on the real (canon?) Blue and Wang Min really really soon!

The next chapter will be out on the 30th of August!! I'm really sorry everyone; I was so busy this last week I could barely put any time into comic! I hope this small picture can make up for it for the time being. I'll continue to project chapter updates for the 10s of each month. See you on the 30th!

Hi! I remember your series from Webtoon's Challenge League's semi-finals- It's a real shame that you didn’t get enough votes to advance to the next round. That seemed really strange to me, because I liked your concept above the other finalists and thought it really fresh and interesting. Chapter 5 of Grand Spirit will be up on Tapastic on August 2nd, but then we're all caught up! The next chapter will be up on August 10th on both Line Webtoon and Tapastic!
Updates will be every 10th day from here on out! That is: the 10th, 20th and 30th of every month! With the size of my chapters a weekly schedule's a bit too hard on me. I currently work and will be on my last semester of University too! But I think this will be a consistent schedule that's almost as easy to follow as weekly.
Grand Spirit as a whole is going through some revision. I decided on the premise of Grand Spirit a week before the contest, with so little prior planning I was pretty much playing it by ear the whole time. Although it's too early in the story to tell, I've put in a lot of research! This is my first original story and I'd like for the Sci-Fi to be as believable as possible (Though it will certainly stretch far from the real science it stems from) and for the world and its characters to be as rich as I can make them. And I've barely reached the tip of the iceberg in my learning! And all the information I've collected has also influenced the trajectory of the story.
Truthfully the perfectionist inside me wants to rewrite/redraw a lot of Grand Spirit: I see all the visual and narrative mistakes I made as a result of rushing, and I'm quite frustrated about it! Instead I will press on to the next chapter! But with refined ideas, and more solid direction and cleaner artwork. From hereon out I hope my storytelling will keep improving, and I hope all of you will be there to follow it!
(There is one line I will be changing in Chapter 5, because I think it was rather character damaging)

10 days seems reasonable.I like a schedule. Awesome! Next is the latest chapter then a new one!! The plot and art is amazing and I can't wait to see how you take this! If it keeps bothering you, you can rewrite and redraw Grand Spirit but I think it's already amazing. You could always make another comic and say that's it's the redrawn, rewritten version (because I'd like it if you kept the old one).

@motolokiev Haha! Saaaaaame! I participated in the first LINE Webtoon contest, but I had never created a comic before, so I ended up failing. And the downvoting of the other competitors really discouraged me. I still have the comic I was working on in storage, and I have been planning it nonstop. But for now, I'm trying to improve my drawing abilities. *fellow artists/writers for liiiiiiiife!*
