Notes for Denesta, Episode 1: The Boy and the Thief
:Extra notes on story!:
* The setting of this story is loosely based on Ancient Rome.
* Page 5: The man and woman shown in first frame, especially the woman, will be the main character of episode 3 and maybe 4.
* Page 6: The boy announcing the news is part of the Royal Heralding services like Cato. He is part of the public announcing sector, while Cato visits wealthy houses individually (because Cato is faster cause of his Hardcore Parkour).
* Page 7: The statue foreshadows the mother/son relationship of the story, this composition will repeat several times.
* The abominable dish in page 9 is an ACTUAL ANCIENT ROMAN DISH. It's called Garum, and it's a rotten fish stew that they put leftover stuff including fish parts in, then leave it outside (!) for a while. They used it like ketchup.
* Page 12: The Tulus house has a guard in front because they have a shady guard hiring business.
* Page 14: The monument is based on an Obelisk, usually something stolen from Egypt. Here it is used also as a sun dial.
* Page 21: The prison guards took all their belongings but Daia hid his wine bottle…somewhere…
* Page 25: Dream sequences usually have a rounded frame.
* Page 29: first frame is continuous narrative style.
* Page 30: Yes they’re playing tic-tac-toe.
* Page 42: There’s a hidden graffiti somewhere that’s almost impossible to find, if you can I’ll post a naughty comic strip XD
* Page 44: Background is giveaway to whole plot of series FYI.
