  • CREATOR NEWSLETTER #3: Support Program Tips

    Nov 16, 2018

Creator Newsletters are sent to creators to inform them of the exciting changes that are coming to Tapas and to provide useful tips for creators to have a better publishing experience on Tapas.

Hey hi hello!

Inksgiving is just a few days away and we wanted to share some useful tips on how to make the most of this fan-favorite community event. If you're unsure of what we're talking about, make sure to catch up with our previous posts about the new and improved Support Program, in which the Coin Shop became the Ink Shop, and Inksgiving, a 48-hour event from Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at 12:00 AM PST to Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at 11:59 PM PST, where readers and creators can give back to their favorite storytellers with Ink support!

Keep an eye on our event page for important information about Inksgiving and during the event, the page will feature a bar to measure our goal of 15 million drops of Ink given in support!

In our last newsletter, we invited those who have not yet activated their support page to contact us. Now, we have a brand new batch of creators who are new to the Support Program and might not know where to begin. We're here to give you a few tips on how to best communicate with readers how they can contribute to your Support Page.

Setting up a Support Message

You can now set up a custom message to let your fans know why they should support you, and how it will help. Adding that personal touch can go a long way to connecting more with your readers. Here are examples of some of our favorites:

Replying to Messages from Fans

Fans are now able to leave messages of encouragement alongside their Ink contributions. As a creator, you can go to your Creator Dashboard and go to the Support Tab to view and reply to messages left by fans.

Creating a Support Episode

As a storytelling platform, we believe the best way to communicate is through the stories themselves. Here are some of our favorite Support Episodes:

You can check out some more Support Episode in the special "Support Creators" collection on the Community Tab of the App!

Having Some Fun with Support

Tapas is at its best when creators are able to have fun and infuse their own creativity to the tools that we provide. Whether it's encouraging fans to participate in a ship war using Ink or holding in-character Q&As with the messages fans send in. The possibilities are endless! And we very much look forward to seeing what you do with it.

We hope these tips helped you create a Support Page that is uniquely yours.

See you on November 20th!
