Hello all! 

We wanted to thank everyone who participated in the first-ever Tapas Writers Camp. The amount of participation has been great to see, and it's been amazing watching Tapas' novels community become more vibrant than ever since we first announced this contest back in February. Everyone who submitted a story, read and supported a Writers Camp submission, or supported another creator during this Writers Camp made it a true success.

The amount of talent and skill the novels community has shown during this first Writers camp is truly impressive. (If you haven't taken a look at the Writers Camp collection, please do so here!) We look forward to seeing all of you continue to grow as creators, and we hope you'll flex your skills again during the next Writers Camp at the end of this summer.

We had two prizes for this Writers Camp: one chosen by the Tapas community and another chosen by the Tapas editorial team.

The Tapas community fell in love with RaeKitano's  novel Finding Ziggy. It's an emotional story following a young man, Gene, as he tries to balance disability, family, work, and a compelling unsolved mystery. 

After reading through all of the submissions, the Tapas editorial team decided to select Bad Lands by Benjamin Ellerson. It's a gripping, wild ride of a Western with an unexpected twist and a fascinating cast of characters.
