My favorite book in kindergarten was Arty The Smarty, written by Faith McNulty and illustrated by Albert Aquino. It's about a little fish who solves problems with quick-thinking, ingenuity, and mischief. It was fun to read about characters like that, lightning-wit tricksters and adorable troublemakers. Turns out it's fun to write them too.
