Hey everyone- Kirby here! I'm a video game nerd, but also a (sort of) dedicated writer and artist. I seriously love writing (and drawing- can't forget that) and being able to share my stories is basically the greatest thing ever.

Just a heads-up that the new upload for Fairylanders should start within the next few days. I'm hoping to finish page 1 and start on page 2 over the weekend if I have enough time.

It's been a while, yeah? Super sorry about that! I'm taking physics this semester and it's been kind of a mess for me, so I need to work on that so I can pass. Classes end in about a month so hopefully I'll have more updates then. But rest assured I am still brainstorming stuff for my stories and thinking about how I should be updating them. As for specifics...
There's no fancy announcement for this but...Fairylanders is getting a complete overhaul, similar to Fallen Royal. I'll leave the current pages up (and if I have enough of page 14's sketch to share I'd be glad to post it!) but I'm gonna make a new series for it and that's the one that'll get updates and stuff. I didn't wanna just lose everyone's comments and things like that though, so the old one's staying up even when it's no longer updating. As for what's changing:
I need to re-structure parts of the story and to do that I need to start over. The characters will all still be there, don't worry!
I realized there wasn't anywhere near enough planning or sketching done before pages went up, which meant I had to rearrange the plot on the fly, which really wasn't working for me in the long run. I think more planning and work on each page would absolutely help, so I'm gonna do my best to keep that in mind once we restart.
Major apologies for all these restarts and inconsistent uploads- I definitely need to get my act together in the future, cause you guys deserve better. Thanks for sticking by me!

For any of you who saw the update for Fallen Royal, rest assured that nothing is happening for a bit. I tested positive for covid and have been feeling under the weather since Sunday. Doing a bit better each day but I'm not exactly in the mood for working on stuff. I'll try and keep y'all posted and (hopefully) have something new for Fallen Royal soon, once I'm feeling better. This post won't be a mile long, I swear! This is a quick update about Fallen Royal specifically. I need to do a lot of editing for previous chapters and that means the series is going on an official hiatus for a bit (as opposed to an unofficial hiatus, i.e. me just not doing my work). I'm going to keep what we have so far, but I want to ask my readers for a bit of input on this. Here are your options: either I leave the current version of Fallen Royal up and just change it to "Fallen Royal (previous draft)" or something like that and make a new series that will be the new draft (and I'll call that Fallen Royal) OR should I edit the current version on Tapas so it has all the new info and post what I have now as a separate series in case anyone wants to go back and read the pre-huge edits version? (feel free to let me know if any of this needs clarifying cause I'm really not wording this well). Thanks for being patient with me- I don't make it easy, I know!
So many words!! Hmmm, I say just keep the old version up for now, and then when you're done with all the editing stuff you can just replace the old one with the new one
Hmm...maybe. I guess that would make the most sense but I'll have to see what I feel like doing. I don't wanna catch people off guard when one day huge sections of the story are super different.

I just checked, and I've apparently posted nothing to anything of my series since December. I wanted to quickly apologize for that and provide some updates, so here goes:
-Every series is still (hopefully) going to continue; I just need to budget my time better.
-I haven't been super motivated to work on things, and I think part of the solution to that would be to get back in the habit of working on my stories to rebuild a sense of consistency. Also, school kinda sucks right now so once the semester's over and my workload's lighter, I'd like to focus on posting more to Tapastic again.
-Fallen Royal: the next chapter is in the works, but depending on how I decide to do things, I may end up going back and editing pieces of previous chapters to change aspects of the story. If it's gonna be a big change, I want it to be an actual change in the chapter rather than just an edit in the description of that chapter.
-Fairylanders: page 13 will be finished at some point, I promise! I'm in the middle of coloring and shading, so once that's done I'll post it and get to work on the sketch for page 14. Provided I don't suddenly change my mind again and have to redo part of an already-posted page, I should be able to do sketches for the next few pages to (hopefully) speed things up.
-Torn Apart, Thrown Together: Doing both this and Fairylanders is a lot of work, and I want them both to be the best I can possibly make them, so I think TA, TT is temporarily taking a backseat to Fairylanders. If I've got more specific updates at some point I'll let you guys know.
-Lost to the Light: I can't keep lying about this one. Chapter 2 is gonna take a while, partly due to a lack of motivation and partly due to LttL being a story that I've been attached to for years. I think I need to adjust my expectations for it and for myself, so until I can properly figure out what to do for the coming chapters, consider this one on hiatus. Sorry about that.

No one reads these, but I want to make note of it somewhere accessible. It's become clear to me during these past few hours of brainstorming, sketching, and staring at my screen, that Fairylanders page 12...is a mess. I really hate saying this, but I think I need to take the page down and redo it. The original isn't being deleted forever- I'll still have it saved with the other pages on my laptop- but I definitely need to change the current, posted version of the page to help the story flow better. I'll be editing the current page, meaning some of the dialogue and panels overall will be a bit different, but it's all for the sake of making the story better. Don't worry- this (hopefully) won't be a consistent thing, and the fixed version of page 12 should be up sometime tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for understanding!
Hi everyone- I wanted to jump in with an update for all four(!) projects I've got here on Tapastic, especially considering how close we are to the new year. Wall of text incoming!
Fallen Royal is hopefully going to get its next chapter soon, but it'll likely not be before the new year. The story's almost finished, which is crazy to say, but I'm very excited to continue Warren's journey with all of you. Also, once the series is properly finished, I'll try and go back to edit specific things that need changing, whether for grammar reasons, story reasons...whatever it is.
Fairylanders page 13 is in the works, don't worry. I need to figure out the panel layout for the overall page, as well as some of the actual dialogue, so it'll probably be a little while before you see the next page. Also, as I mentioned in a recent Torn Apart, Thrown Together update, I'll be upping the quality by tweaking the shading and highlights, since I really like how it makes everything look.
Lost to the Light chapter 2 is coming soon-ish. Sorry for being so repetitive... I've been reading and re-reading what I've got so far and sporadically editing, but it's going to take time till I'm satisfied with it. I set the bar pretty high with chapter 1, and I want to try to match that level of quality as best I can.
Torn Apart, Thrown Together will probably be next to get an update, since I already know most of what's gonna happen on page 3, and I'm super in the mood to work on it, since that's just how it tends to be for me whenever I start on something new. Unlike my other three series, this one is pretty much a spontaneous thing, so later down the line I may not update it as frequently so I have time to properly plan things, but that's Future Kirby's problem!
tl;dr Everything will be updated soon, or at least soon-ish, though I can't guarantee updates on anything before the new year.
ALSO! Maybe I'll post some New Year's-themed art on my Instagram of some of my characters. Not sure yet.

Okay, super quick note cause I've got stuff to do- there's a new series listed here. It has no episodes or even a description cause I need to do some editing before the first episode goes up. The new series is super close to my heart but that's a story for another time. Gtg- love y'all!
