Haha burnout is fucking awful. What a surprise. Delaying Brujagh hurts me, but I cannot force myself to work on it right now, I'm sorry.
I didn't want to force a page out this weekend. I had a lot of commissions to take care of, and I spent some time writing... Aaaaand I had no energy when it came time to sit down and do the comic.
Expect the next page next Saturday/Sunday.

Recovering from rear-end accident. Doing better, but progress is slow, but I'm going to try to get some pages out soon. Thanks for sticking around.

Taking a little mental/physical health day for tomorrow. Page will be uploaded tomorrow night.
Should have a page up tomorrow/this weekend.
Sorry everyone, I'm not going to be able to get the page done in time.
It's not artist burnout this time though, just a lot of frustration on my end, as well as just being busy with work.
Lately I've been getting quite fed up with social media. I've spent a little bit of money for advertisements, with very little turn-around. I've noticed a lot of twitter posts being largely ignored, and just a general sense of shame I feel for not being able to get more readers onto my comic.
So I have to take a step back and try to figure out if I'm really making this comic for fun, or if I'm just making it for numbers, you know?
I don't want to make this comic feeling resentment, I want to work on this comic because I enjoy it. Right now, I need to change my mindset. I need to enjoy working on this comic.
Might finish the comic by Sunday, we'll see.

Don't fret, I'm still working on Brujagh. It's taking me a little longer than I originally planned to get everything under control in my life. This new full time job does take a bit out of me, but I'm settling in a lot better than when I first started a month ago.
Thank you for your patience, I'll try to get updates out asap.

Hi readers of Brujagh!
I think it's time to talk about the big "H" word with Brujagh. I think we kind of knew it was going to happen at some point, but I really do need a break longer than just a week. Starting on the 30th of November, Brujagh will be on hiatus. I'll push out updates until the 30th of course.
I'm not abandoning Brujagh, just to make that abundantly clear! I have every intention to return next year. I'll start updating in January/February, after I take December off.
Sort of wishing I could end it on a better cliffhanger or at the end of a chapter, but this really just isn't going to happen right now. I'm tired of the comic and I need to recharge my batteries, mostly to get ready for my new job, and work on other projects that interest me. And I need to spend some real time practicing my rendering techniques, anatomy, and being more comfortable with my skillset.
I'm not satisfied with how Brujagh is performing, or how it looks right now; the best way to solve that is to figure out what works and what doesn't, and that is a bit much to do while working on the comic at the same time.
I quit my part time job because it just isn't providing for me, and I'm tired of living paycheck to paycheck and wishing that the comic would fill in the gaps. It hasn't, and I don't think it will for a while yet, so I need to get myself comfortable with a new job that is full time. I can still work on Brujagh with the new job of course, when the hiatus is over.
Thank you so much for reading, and especially a huge thank you to those who have been supporting me on Patreon. It means so much to me that you have been there and giving me support.
Thank you again. Expect the return of Sierra and company in January/February 2018.

October 2017 Q&A
Q: How are interspecies romance seen? Is it different depending on which two (or more) species is involved?
A: In Brujagh, it's usually seen as a positive thing. There are some who are fervently defend their cultural bias towards mixed species relationships, however. And yes, some races who are pretty hostile to each other frown upon relationships that break the normal pairings. For instance, a Benian and a Tiedian in a relationship would be frowned upon by both parties, as both were previously at war.
Q: What programs do you use for your art?
A: I used to use both Photoshop CS5 and PaintToolSAI. Photoshop for sketching and final shading, and SAI for the inking of all the pages. I upgraded to CS6 and dropped SAI to try and keep the workflow a bit more consistent.
Q: What is your process for writing the story?
A: I have a general idea of the big key points in the plot, and its writing all the things that lead up to those key moments that I take the time to do. Brujagh is only a fraction of a thousand years of plot points that I have planned in my head and on paper. With the story of Brujagh, I've already figured out most of the major events as points to write into, rather than writing as I go along and seeing what comes next.
Q: Wait, I thought Sierra was with that Evee girl? What happened?
A: No, it's totally not a retcon of Evee, I promise. Sierra is a very troubled person, and after suffering a pretty close brush with death, she sought out some comfort. She found Evee, who, at least I think, saw she needed comfort. I think they had a natural evolution of their relationship from there, and it's something Sierra is going to have to deal with. Nagog is an old flame, and it ignites now and then.
