Comic Tea Party is running a discussion of Galebound as their webcomic of the week this week! Every day the host, Rebel, will post 1-2 questions to prompt discussion (although you're also free to discuss the comic in general).
You can join the discussion on Discord here! https://discord.gg/2zwMBQR
Hey guys :>
tl;dr there's a Galebound Discord channel and it's cool and fun: https://discord.gg/n6x9G8Z
This update coming up on Wednesday is the last page of the chapter. After that, I'm taking a break for a few weeks to try to get a better buffer for chapter five. Galebound will return to Tapas on 9/5 (three weeks after the main site http://www.galebound.com)
In the meantime, I've created a Discord channel for readers to hang out in and chat :D It's been open for about a week now I think? And it's been a lot of fun~ I imagine it might slow down over the hiatus a smidge, but still, come hang out!
Warning: Since it includes readers from the main site, there are spoilers if you're reading exclusively on Tapas. Proceed with caution :'D https://discord.gg/n6x9G8Z
I don't post often here, but hey, fun news! If you checked out the Authors Note on the last update, you may have noticed that @ComicTeaParty is hosting a reading group discussion about Galebound on Thursday! I'm ridiculously excited about this and I'd love for you to come join! https://comicteaparty.tumblr.com/
In other news, we're creeping towards the end of chapter three, which I hope to have drawn by the end of November or shortly after, after which I will need to take a longer-than-normal chapter break on account of getting married. Yeah. That's a thing. Festivities and all that.
Other than that, gonna be some big changes on the website (galebound.com) soon. Not much I can say there other than...well, it's quite blue.
Anyway, lots to be excited about! Hope to see y'all at the Tea Party on Thursday! Gale speed <3
I might as well use my wall for once to give my two cents on the debacle yesterday. If you weren't online or in the loop, you can catch a run-down of what transpired here: https://www.bleedingcool.com/2017/05/18/controversial-change-tapastaptastic-terms-service-claims-right-first-refusal-webcomics/
The chances of that clause actually affecting Galebound were very low, but I do plan to self-publish in the future and I can't take chances. Low chance =/= no chance. My stance on the issue is in the forums: http://forums.tapastic.com/t/updated-site-terms-and-services/17769/209
Long story short, Galebound will remain up on Tapas. The problematic clause has been removed. Future updates may change things; who knows. But for now I choose to leave GB up here because I do really enjoy the community aspect (I am addicted to your comments).
THAT SAID I am taking this opportunity to plug the main site, http://galebound.com. Benefits to the main site include no annoying ads, updates a week ahead of Tapas, mobile compatibility (as best I could code anyway), extra pages with good stuff, and the option to get even earlier updates and some other goodies through my Patreon.
So yeah, that's where we're at. Tapas lost some amazing creators yesterday and it was all around a harrowing day, but I do appreciate that Tapas took action and is looking at re-evaluating their ToS based on this feedback. Creation rights are one of the most important things any creator owns and it's important to be vigilant of chances to anywhere content is hosted.
Anyway, that's the state of things right now. Thanks for listening, for reading, and for being awesome. Galespeed!
Hey Respheal! I'm really late but thanks so much for subscribing and pledging to City of Blank. I can't tell you how much it means! ;v; Best of luck with your own comic as well! Galebound looks really awesome and I've got it book marked to check out too!
