Ding ding ding! The deadline has passed for the Action Fantasy tourney and The Cogs Turn Quietly is *checks notes* still in the running! Thank you for all your support!
Now that it's in the hands of Tapas' staff, however, Cogs is on an enforced break until we hear their longlist. Unfortunately, yes: that means I won't be updating Taru's story until at least 7th November. Once all this is done and dusted, though, I will get straight back on it: Taru and friends will continue their adventure in Denlinne (and beyond)!
However! The enforced break only applies to The Cogs Turn Quietly. I'm not NOT allowed to post other stuff, and I might just have something in mind for the dark winter creeping towards us, here in the mid-north of the northern hemisphere.
Thank you for your patience with me and, once again, for your support. The fact that you are willingly putting your eyes on my work is frankly incredible to me. To quote a legend, you are magnificent.
Just a quick note to inform you that no, you aren't losing your mind: I have slightly edited the first chapter of The Cogs Turn Quietly. This was mainly to adjust Dragon's pronouns. Hopefully, it won't result in a format change but if it does, it should only be the last few paragraphs.
I hope you're all doing well and staying safe!
If you'll allow me a bit of Britishness: there's a promise of rain on the horizon for me, but this is North Wales, so there's no surprise there! I love this kind of gloomy, grizzly weather. Very atmospheric. I just wish the fog would linger a little longer: living on a small island like Ynys Môn means weather conditions move on super quickly, but I grew up in a town that nestles up against the Pennines and therefore holds onto fog and mist and drizzle for days, sometimes. I can't pretend I don't miss worrying that I might run into Pyramidhead. You don't need to analyse that, btw, you can just take it at face value, thanks.
Anyway, I hope the weather is fair wherever you may be!
