Growing up in Nigeria during the 80's/90's, there were a lot of things to love like MTV, comic books, a LOT of TV, Michael Jackson, etc., but being an artist was above them all.
I still remember getting in trouble for drawing during classes. Any sane kid would've stopped, but not me. Nah, I carried that habit with me all the way to School of Visual Arts and, thank God, it's served me well.
Now, I'm making comics and animation with my trustee Wacom Cintiq and Bamboo, as well as teaching young kids the art of cartooning.
