A cure for leukemia was found and it led to vampires werewolves, giants and indirectly magic, this was achieved by using technology to alter human DNA to mutate us to achieve feats beyond that of what can be normally achieved or to heal and cure disease and conditions, over time the enhancements became part of our genetic coding. Now in our future; werewolves live in a parliamentary republic, Vampires live in a confederacy, and giants live as nomads without a government. As for the humans, they were thinned to small numbers after the first war of light which resulted in our civilization to grow similar to the societal structure of the middle ages with modern tech, and the vampire expansion to the left of what was once Germany. Leading up to it they suppressed survivors into their towns under their theology which held high value on nationalism and xenophobia depending on what denomination they hold onto. After said war they hold those within their ranks and their own people ignorant of the fact they were the same group who built the "abominations" they created. The other creatures also ignorant of this but aware of humanities capability for xenophobia, the giants, werewolves and vampires would grow wary of the human's. Some believed it silly to assume human's bad, some thought it ill advised not too. Others payed the war no mind. Regardless of the opinions of those who inhabit this land of New Europe. One thing is for sure, due to the fact that the people who inhabit this land lose their children every thirty years for almost a century and a half. Human xenophobia is at an all time high. The human's are not aware of the reason for this,they only know it happens at night and only with children.
