Theodore is the son of millionaires, whose parents have done something with their fortune that negatively affected his studies. It causes students at his college to take their anger out on Theodore and now he must attend a new school and hide his background from everyone there.
To Theodore's surprise, he quickly makes friends with members of an up and coming rock band called 'Hamster Crickets'. In that time, he becomes especially interested in one of the band mates but also learns that the band struggles with money and publicity. In Theodore's attempt to help the band financially, his other secret eventually comes out.
