“Oh my god… the sun is scorching. When will I finally be home?” - Odette sighed in desperation as her house appeared to be kilometres away from her. 

You see, Odette really hated the heat but she also hated the cold, she wasn't fond of sweets or salty foods either, she always aimed for something in between… And that would be a perfect sum of her character, she really was a neutral person ( #LibraAlert ), she liked the comfort that the middle ground offered her. She didn't want to stress if she was good enough, if she aimed too high and she didn't want to feel lesser than, if she couldn't reach a certain standard, so she always does the bare minimum in a way that is socially acceptable of her.

“Ughh, C'mon Odette you are always complaining, we will be home in literally five minutes.” - Said a deep voice behind her.

“Yes Theo, But I don't wanna wait even five minutes longer!” Said Odette, annoyed.

Theo was Odette's friend, a handsome 18 year old guy who happened to live in the same house as her. Their family circumstances were a bit complicated to say the least.

Odette lives with her uncle from her mothers side called Victor, reason being that, due to her parents frequent work travels, they are unable to take proper care of her, for that reason, when Odette was 13 years old, they asked for Victor's help for some time until they were in a more stable position. 

Theo’s story is a bit more unfortunate, his mother died in an accident when he was 14 years old, after his mothers death his dad almost immediately brought in his long term mistress who, coincidentally or not, had a son his age that looked like the spitting image of his father. Needless to say it was a situation less than ideal, many conflicts lead him to live with his godfather, Victor himself.

This is how this situation came to be. It's been 4 years since all of this happened and Theo and Odette would have a good relationship if we can describe it like that…

“We are home!” - Theo says, standing in front of a small villa. Willow Road n° 202 , a beautiful two story house. Honestly, it was a dream house, cream and warm tones covered the walls, coffee coloured tiles on the roof, big luminous windows and the most lovely garden with a big willow tree in the corner. Victor had inherited this house from his parents, and it had been in the family for about 100 years. They were not rich per say, just well off.

Both enter hurriedly in the house, going up the stairs to their rooms, second floor opposite from each other. Victor was not in the house, at the ripe age of 25 he was elected Chef of the Police, it's been five years since then and his work schedule has been packed since then. A day in their life would go like this, the first to wake up would be Victor, he was always in a rush, by the time Theo and Odette would wake up, he had already downed two coffees, All three of them would typically eat breakfast together, Victor would then go to work and Odette and Theo would go to school. They attended Golden Champs High School, where they were in the same class. 

In school, everyone thought that it was weird that Odette and Theo were living in the same house, quite bizarre… yet, no one questioned it since the news broke since the beginning.

There were some unsatisfied people though mainly the girls that had a crush on Theo. Theo was popular since the day he stepped in that school, good looks, good brains, quite charismatic and with a talent for sports it's a recipe for success. Odette on the other hand, was not that popular, see the difference between them was that Odette used to live in another country her whole life, when she arrived in school she had a lot of difficulty to adapt to the new culture, given the language issues as well. While she might not be popular, she has very good friends in the class like her girl best friend Sara. She mostly went unnoticed as she didn't speak much and didn't really participate in any school related event. 

While at school, Odette and Theo didn't interact much, sure Theo had developed some sort of protective instinct towards her, he thought it as a duty towards his godfather who had helped him, but other than that they were not really compatible. She was nice enough, sure, but her constant complaints and low ambitions annoyed him. He  was a man of action, ambitious, and loved challenges - things Odette seemed to avoid at all costs.

“Sigh.. I just don't want to get more entangled with her things are already complicated the way they are” thinked Theo not knowing what was to come…
